STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Learner

"I don't know...I wasn't expecting pirates." Rianna replies. "But we cannot leave until they're gone...and even with these coverings I don't think it's very safe out here."

As if to prove you right, you hear a starfighter zoom overhead and fire into the covering. A laser manages to punch through and burst on the street below.

"Usby mentioned they were trying to access the surface," Myraline says. "This might not simply be an air raid."

"No, I think not...but if they do land then they can be dealt with more easily, especially with these droids of Roch's." Rianna says. "But we need a safe place for the Senator. Back underground, maybe?"

Myraline nods.

The representative throws himself after you, saying that he can take the Senator back under ground to the Council. He will be safe there.

Quinn is also sprinting in at high speed, having apparently been satisfied that his ship is protected and that he still wants to live.

"Transports coming in for a landing!" he shouts.

Well, Rianna is fine with the representative bringing Palpatine back to the Council Chambers. If there's going to be fighting, he should be well away from it.

"I admit, I hadn't expected anything like this happening on this mission..." she comments as Quinn sprints in, shouting. Her lightsaber is already out in her hand, though she hasn't ignited it yet.

The representative, before hurrying back to the lift with Palpatine, informs you that the droids will be here any moment. He and the Senator scamper off.

Quinn draws his blaster pistol. "This ain't gonna be fun..."

"It never should be," Myraline comments, removing her lightsaber from her belt.

Not long after, the first signs of resistance begin to show. Beseedad sends forth its droid starfighters to combat the pirate threat! These starfighters look like gently curved, flying wings. Without a pilot or life support, there is only a single blaster cannon in its center. As they move to engage the faster pirate fighters, they fire singular shots with decent accuracy. Their real advantage is their high maneuverability.

But they are spread thin trying to hinder the strafing runs on the city, and so one of the transports is able to slip past and set down in the snow beside the street you are on. Hatches open and the pirate horde spills out, ready to blast anything in sight...

"I prefer this to talking, myself..." Rianna comments, igniting her lightsaber as the pirates exit the transport.

A pair of Jedi igniting their lightsabers whilst all others flee give the pirates something of a target...

The pirates are six frames distant and outside the street covering.

Are they close enough they can be Bashed?

Yes.

Well, as they are yet too far to attack with her saber, and Rianna would rather draw the pirates to them, she will start out by using Bash on the lead pirates.

As you have indicated that you wish to use Combat Push instead...

How many targets? Up to three.

Two. Rianna's probably not good enough to hit more than that 😛

Well, let's see how that goes...

Rianna very violently thrusts her free hand forward! The first roll is penalty-free, but the second roll is at -2, with +1 from the MKP of Combat Push. 9 and 15... superb! Two of the pirates are suddenly knocked to the ground.

Quinn lugs out his heavy pistol and puts down one pirate, severely injures another with Carnival of Carnage.

Myraline decides that your method of starting things off may not have been a bad idea, Rianna! She too extends her hand and lays a pirate flat. She advances as she does this, positioning her lightsaber defensively...

Time for the pirates to blast away at the foolish women Jedi and their scruffy friend! Defensive plan?

Rianna will also advance, and use Defend.

The pirates open fire! Eight attacks on all, with two extra going for Myraline as she has become the closest target with a lightsaber.

You are a talented swordsman, Rianna, but you are not quite at the level where defensive tactics are natural and easy. These pirates are simple goons, but that burst fire is a real pain! You take 24 damage as you exert yourself trying to smack the bolts away.

Quinn seems to fair better. Apparently he is not as threatening.

Myraline does the best against the incoming blaster fire of these pirates. She passively deflects many of the bolts coming her way, her orange lightsaber flicking to and fro. Some appear as if they are going to strike her, but she twists away at the last moment. She minimizes her damage down to 10.

The pirates will fire again before you reach them, though Quinn is not advancing and has no problem with this.

Also, added your bonus pool for Blade Tricks in parentheses. Myraline has King of Defense, whereas Rianna gets bonus pool from Killer Instincts.

Rianna glares at the men and speeds ahead to arrive among them (use Blur to get there before they fire). She'll then snap an attack on a pirate and use Defend, as well as Riposte, for the defense.

May want to rethink that. You did not move at the start of things, and you have not had the opportunity to move yet. Myraline started right away, but she is only half-way currently.

But the last turn I said to advance. So I should have moved...

Thinking turn-based, are we?

I went through with the attack on Rianna and her Defend. You declared your intent to move, and you will, but I have not initiated it yet just so you know that they will fire on you when you get half-way.

I hope that made sense...?
