STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Learner

Started by Peach42 pages

Rianna, once she has her lightsaber back, is going to make her way back to where Quinn is. There's no point in her staying near the almost-finished fight and she is sure that Myraline will be able to finish the Pirate Leader. Also, it's cold, and she doesn't have her cloak for warmth any more.

Staggering away from the fight, you keep yourself clear of the continuing battle and end up by Quinn.

"You alright?" he asks.

The Pirate Leader is furious as he regains his footing. Instead of attacking Myraline, he aims his flamethrower up on the side of the transport and lets loose a trail of sapphire flames, putting a Fortune point into his attack.

The man does not even flinch as the flames coat his body and ignite his clothing. Instead, he pulls his right hand back- the one that fired the rocket- and thrusts his left hand forward. There is a rippling effect in the air around his hand, then thrusts away from his hand and collides with Pirate Leader, knocking him flat.

The man, who is on fire, leaps down off of the transport, pulling his fist back and letting it fly. The Pirate Leader tries to roll out of the way, but the two-foot blade that suddenly extends from the man's knuckles manages to cut deeply across his side. As the Pirate Leader struggles to his feet, the man kicks him solidly... the blade in his foot digging into the Pirate's side.

Myraline stands back.

"I'll be okay..." Rianna replies, watching the fight. She's rather impressed and surprised by Mr. Walking Weapon's destruction of the Pirate Leader.

Mr. Walking Weapon takes a step back as the Pirate Leader, badly cut and injured, tries to crawl away. But the Walking Weapon is not done. He grabs the old pirate by one leg and drags him over to the transport, then tosses him against it. The pirate is too badly beaten to resist, though he gives a startled yelp as Mr. Walking Weapon snatches up the pirate's flamethrower and levels it at his defenseless foe...

Myraline puts herself between WW and the defeated pirate, holding her lightsaber aloft.

"Enough," Myraline says. "It is done. I am taking him into custody."

The Walking Weapon shows no expression, though you can sense anger.

Rianna would prefer that Myraline let him finish the Pirate Leader, being not at all happy with the injuries she sustained, but also knows that Myraline is right.

"What next?"

Down the street, the battle droids are marching to engage another pirate transport that has set down. Walking Weapon looks down at them, then rips the flamethrower in half and tosses it on the ground in front of the pirate before stomping off.

"Nice fellow," Quinn says, glancing after him.

"Get Rianna to your ship," Myraline says. "I don't care how, but she needs to be safe."

"Righteo. Come with me, girlie." Quinn offers you an arm to help you.

"Aren't I supposed to be protecting the Senator? I can't do that from on the ship!" Rianna protests.

"You cannot perform your duty in this state," Myraline reasons. "You need medical attention, and Quinn can supply it. Now go."

"Fine." Rianna says, seeing the sense in what Myraline says, which annoys her even more.

She heads back to the ship, stubbornly refusing Quinn's help.

Running out from underneath the damaged street covers, you are able to look up at the sky to see that the Beseedad starfighters are giving the pirates a run for their money. The large bomber that the pirates were using as their primary seems to have been damaged, and the pair of starships escorting it break off and head for space as it is blown apart by the powerful blasters of the droid ships.

Quinn gets back to the landing pad, where he has to argue with the docking droid for a moment before it gives him access to an underground tunnel.

Rianna will follow Quinn back to the landing pad and into the underground tunnel to the ship. If anyone or anything decides to try arguing with her, she'll simply point out that she is a Jedi and doesn't have time to deal with any delays right now.

"I'm sure I could have simply gotten healed in the city instead of going back to the ship..." she mutters to herself while walking.

"I don't know if you noticed or not," Quinn says, "but the city is what was being blown up."

"I may have noticed that..." Rianna replies. "But I don't like being sent off like I need to stay in safety."

"You're quite a headstrong little girl, aren't ya?" Quinn asks.

"Myraline would say I am. She'd probably list off all of my faults, if you asked her..." Rianna says, a bit moodily.

"No-one's perfect," Quinn says. "Not even you Jedi."

Quinn's vessel has a bacta tank, the pilot claiming that he had it recently installed because he has gone through too many instances where it would have been extremely convenient to have one.

As you soak in the healing liquid, you can hear the dull rumble of explosions up above.

After awhile, Quinn comes back into the closet that passes as his medical bay and checks on you.

"I've talked to Myraline," Quinn states. "Says the pirates are pullin' back."

"Did they do much damage?" Rianna asks, her mood a bit better now.

"Nothin' too bad, sounds like. Apparently those battle droids are nasty work. Blast around a bit, then get in close and cut 'em up bad. And once that main bomber went up, the air raid was done for."

"Hmm...am I allowed out of here yet? I don't really like missing things..."

"Dunno, how're you feelin'?"
