USH'S STAR WARS GAME 2008- Character Creation

Started by Bardock4232 pages

Sorry for the triple post, but I was wondering, since I have Subterfuge, does it make sense of me to have a high lying skill and why and how does it all work?

So...quadruple post ftw.

I am wondering about Dark Learnings. What exactly does it mean, could I have Dark Learnings in Intimitation for example? Or would that not make sense, and how do I know what throws are intelligence based.

I'd also like to make a few more adjustments to my character.

Intelligence-based skills...

Jedi Lore, Languages, Law, Medicine, Savoir-Faire...think those are all of them. Warfare maybe but that's irrelevant (so is Law, really).

And basically what it means is that you get an extra 3 dice on your pool when using that specific skill, which is really handy. The more dice you have on a roll, the more likely you are to pass and pass well.

To be honest, since we have Gallador with Dark Learnings: Jedi Lore already, I'd say go with something like Savoir-Faire and make yourself vital to the group 😛

As for Subterfuge...well, it's going to make you an insanely good liar. I'm not sure if you'd really need a high Lying score with that, though. Hmm.

I think SF would be good, it would fit the character I intend to play.

And I was wondering about the lying thing too, the only thing I could think of would be lying to droids. Maybe rather getting a higher intimidation would be an idea. I am not sure how to exactly separate lies from intimidation, I mean, lies can certainly be intimidating.

Lying is being able to tell lies and do so well, so people believe you. Intimidation is simply scaring them into doing what you want. And related, Persuade is talking people into doing what you want.

Example: Rianna is decent with Intimidation. People tend to believe she'll behead them if she doesn't get her way (probably because she would). She's not much of a liar though...

Yeah, but wouldn't someone lying about beheading the person, be similar?

Lying's usually, in this group at least, used more for explaining why we're doing the stupid things we're doing. Sometimes Intimidation isn't always going to work, because the situation is just bad for it, or we need people on our side (at least temporarily), or both.

Sadly Dark Side isn't about dismembering everyone we come across...

It's a sad world we live in, not being allowed to kill whoever we feel like.

Well, I am just wondering about whether there is a good reason for having a high lying skill with subterfuge, the rest I have worked out I think.

I know, right? How ridiculous...

Yeah, I'm not actually too sure about that. I'm sure Ush will have some input on that though.

Stupid Jedi with their stupid Republic and stupid people killing us for killing stupid people.

Yeah, I'll just wait. I am quite excited about the Tutorial mission, it does sound like a bunch of fun.

Wow, that sounded so much like something I'd say...

Yeah, it looks interesting, and it should be fun advising how to be a Darkie 😊

God it's gonna be fun when we start up... we just may like some of our new members!

Even if you ARE a Forcie, Bardock.

Hey, I may be a forcie on the outside, but I am very much an unpredictable, evil psychopath in my heart.....where it counts.

Yeah, I've been reading your last campaign a bit, and the constant bickering and absolute lack of any straightforward plan is just hilarious (also, Ush getting you straight into the arms of immigration, that was just awesome)

Hehehe.

Did you get to the bit about the Friendship Circle yet?

One of the ****ing funniest things ever...

Oh god the Friendship Circle...

And, of course, Dak's moment of shining glory... much later...

Hehehehehe.

How about our failed attempt at sneaking into the Bureau office, and how Rianna was still determined to try it even after the alarms got set off?

Or us being stuck in the starport and Rianna being about ready to simply sneak out? 😛

Yeah, and was surprised by sudden burst of violence. I am actually also surprised that it is quite a fun read. The way I played pen and paper rpgs before it was always great fun for the people participating, but I could swear that it would be just met with blank stares of boredom when written down and read to someone else.

Yeah, I think that's the power of Ush. And more than a little because of the players, probably. But mostly Ush.

I don't know how fun the Jedi game is to read, though.

The last Jedi games were certainly interesting, I thought 😛

I personally love reading through RP stuff, it can be fun. I still read over stuff from the first Matrix game 😛

Well, I don't really know anything on the scale of Ush's games, so I never read anything else.
