I do. And yes, I know you put an epic amount of time in too. Though to be fair, all good competitors put time in...just some put it in different places: scan research, writeup creations, in-match posts, logic-defying strategy brainstorming (aka The "Blair" approach), etc.

😉

I just can't imagine throwing a writeup together last-second. Especially this tourney with my audio writeups, I have to be planning at least a match in advance for what general stuff I'll be saying/doing. For example, I currently have my "writeups" Word file open, where I'm tweaking the script for the audio portion for my match with Scoob/leo that doesn't start for a week and a half. And the written portion of it is largely done (before tweaks and additions, of course).

I've gone into tourneys having traps planned matches in advance for potential opponents...which was easier than it is now, because we've never been able to switch people mid-tourney before. Makes long-term planning even tougher.

Which is odd, because my in-match posting is general spur of the moment stuff. Some partners PM each other their posts and such. I always disliked that....it annoyed me.

Also, are you judging goob? If not, why the hell not?!

Man, I could never do that. I havn't even completely found out about Id and Kandy's team yet xD

They have Batman. So you may be in some trouble. Batkick ftw, yo.

Meh, the Cask is banned but the Batkick is allowed =/

xD

Meh, BAtgman's only frightening thing is prep.

And the Spectre damaging Batkick I guess. 🙁

don't understand the importance of prep...it can often be a game-changer

I don't understand...

That's exactly our point 🙂

I actually meant 'don't underestimate'

You're my next match. You might want to help yourself out and come up with a writeup that doesn't break the rules.

😛

I'm not sure what you mean *coughleowrotethatprepplancough* ... whistling

Don't worry though Digi ... You may be the only one in this thing that me and Leo will devote any time/effort into pwning.

😄

We're going to alter our team every other day just to piss you off.

It's not logic defying, you just have no imagination (😛) And that's something I have in abundance.

now if only someone would give me a green lantern ring dammit disgust

Everyone has imagination that does well in these things. Saying things like "____ is the best prepared, ____ is the most creative, _____ is the best debater" are a bit absurd, imo. It changes tourney to tourney, match to match, post to post. Victories, while we try to make outcomes as objective as possible, are still subject to 3-5 judges, and might have changed with a different set of similarly-informed judges. The number of tourneys that have come down to the last 1-2 judges (at least 2-3 tourneys) is a testament to this.

As it turns out, some of us are just less willing to jump off the deep end with plans, since sometimes they work and other times they get debunked and become liabilities. But it doesn't mean we can't. I remember leo's disgruntlement at having to dip heavily into absurd prep stuff in the last tourney he won, since he preferred more "sane" approaches to tourneys. But when others did, he matched and bettered them. More creative? Debatable. For that tourney, perhaps. But it was simply doing what was needed.

Example: Was turning everyone into AS Superman and amping them with magic as creative as using AW's soul link to allow Space Phantom to share herald-power with the team, and become someone else after that? While at least half a dozen other things were going on for each team? To me, looking back, they're both just ridiculous (I feel like we lost because when both plans failed in the judges' eyes, SP was the clear weak link in the battle). But the point is, imagination is highly subjective, and any good competitor possesses the skills needed to win. 2 tourney victories for leo, perhaps, doesn't mean he's more creative than goober with 1, or that scoob is more "something" than leo and anyone else because of his 4 (unless "something" = "drunk"😉.

So yes, you have imagination in abundance Blair. Really and truly. The subtle jab in my last post was merely because you enjoy giving in to the more exotic aspects of your imagination more often than the rest of us do.

It was just a joke lookaround

Oh, I know. But you know how I enjoy pontificating.

😊

But it was a compliment as well. I'm always impressed by what other great competitors can think of, and you're certainly among those.

Kfish has a lot of potential. I'm impressed.

He needs to adjust his team a bit... and he may actually bite and beat some big fish. He's an impressive debator.

Dammit I fell asleep and missed the deadline for ending the debates ='[

And I got helpful info.

Dammit.

I absolutely despise Time difference now.

My new info could've helped me imensely.

Although I will admit I shot myself in the foot via telling Digi how to overcome my attacks.

Relax...At least you know me and Scoobs are in the same boat (Scoobs in Scotland, me in Eastern Europe). We just need to do our best to beat'em, not whine about time difference.
