It would be pretty cool to see the Riddler making some kind of appearance as a private investigator, as he is/ was in Dini's run on Detective.
Agreed, since they probably want to stop after the third, I think it should be open ended anyways, with Batman succeeding and beating his enemies, maybe clearing his name in some way or another, the Batcave being done and in that fashion, Riddler could already show some of his insanity.

It won't, however, be long before some WB executive arsehole decided that they haven't quite milked this cashcow enough, and they get some dumbass action-crazy director to direct (read: Brett Ratner).
Whatever big idea Nolan has, he should do it in the third movie, because I think after the third movie this franchise should end.
but they only stopped the last "franchise" after batman and nipples...i mean robin, and that was only because it flopped.
with batman's popularity now, they may try and have as long a run as they can, until we get another disaster and then another decade to get the taste of it out of our mouths before they release anything else.

I hope WB is smart enough to stop after the third movie. It's the perfect place to stop. Make three movies and then stop, then start a new franchise in another decade or so and if whoever directs is good, go for more than three movies. But with his previous franchise, we can't risk it this time around.

Or until Nolan's done...they should be smart enough to know that the franchise shouldn't go on too much longer. I could see if Nolan stuck around to make it maybe a four or five movie franchise, but after TDK he said he's creatively burnt out, so imagine how burnt out he'll be after he finishes the third movie.

The thing about Nolan, I think, is that he isn't the usual kind of whore director (Michael Bay, George Lucas) with minimal talent who'll bleed a story dry with uninspired reruns of old ideas. He'll stop when his story's over. If that story's done after the Dark Knight, he'll stop, but I think he's still got one good story in him. He'll quit when he's winning; I think he cares a lot about producing good films (and his track record shows as much). I think that there's little or no chance of a 4th or 5th film from Nolan.
Once again i agree, if he feels the story is over he will quit, Nolan does not seem the type to keep producing film after film unless he feels there is something in the story for him to do so.

Exactly. I mean, just look at "The Dark Knight". Nolan had no clue how much it would make, and didn't even care during production. All that he cared about was making an awesome movie(which he was successful at).
