The miners protest that. They point out that had they not done what they did, you would never have heard the truth.

Converting Ogros is in many ways an awesome idea, as he is the 'best' Epirean as it were. Almost certainly more a long term game though.

I conquer with Denz: they have commited crimes such as kidnapping, endangering civilians, terroristic actions, threatening and using violence against the government (both of the planet as the Republic), damaged official infrastructure, etc.

They should get a fair trial, even if called for I would stay behind to make sure that they don't get mistreated during the trial. Perhaps I can get a droid over that knows law (sorry, I'm reading Sacrifice and Jacen Solo is using such a droid).

In defence of us asking to speak justice over them: they could have asked us, commed us or when entering through the bloody roof not drawn weapons and kidnapped the administrator but simply asked Jedi protection and than tell us what was going on.

Desperate times, desperate measures: I agree but there were other ways with no violence that they could have used.

Ah, so your justification is that there is always another way, yes?

Will you recommend the court take mitigating circumstances into account?

Indeed. The moral was there but they went about it the most dangerous way.

Fair enough then! Well a number of people come to see you before you leave. First is Sensator Gern... who is NOT happy.

"Good evening Senator, how may we help you?" Denzral turns to face Gern.

"This has been a disaster, and it is your fault, Jedi! The Repibllic had a lot riding on this deal. It was a demonstration! The Senate will hear about your... sabotage!"

"We came seeking to secure the best deal for these people, be it at Republic expense, ir other. We did what, what we recommended was best in the long run for these people."

"Well, I am going to see to it that an investigation is launched into your actions!"

fas pulled up his datapad, watching over the recording. he watched over it twice while the others talked before looking up. "yeah, i really think it would be best if we take his offer wentar. i don't see a problem, and if he breaks his part of the deal, well, we need something. so how about this, as collateral, we keep the recordings, then if you break your part of the agreement, we have a way to have you locked up, oh yeah, and also as collateral, i made a note to discreetly record some of the conversation while i 'watched over' the recording again. so the recording of your face will come in handy when," he paused for a moment to restate his words," IF, we need to have you locked up." he grinned and put away the fungus, nibbling at the little bit still in his mouth. "mmm, tasty."

"The recordings will be covered by the non-disclosure agreement," says the lawyer.

"but perhaps we could sign a ,DIFFERENT, agreement." he made extra emphasis on the word agreement, already planning something out in his mind.

i was thinking something along the lines of, we keep the recordings with us without revealing it to the republic and they keep their soldiers on the planet with them also keeping a copy of said document. we all sign it, agreeing to never speak of it unless one term of the agreement is broken. say if, they send their troops back out to kill the houn, we give the recordings to the republic, along with our copy of the agreement. and vice versa with them being able to use their copy in order to keep from getting in trouble. legally anyway. so that would be double trouble for us. that way, nobody wins, but the houn and the cal are kept safe.))

It's still alright. You serve the Jedi Council, not the Senate, and the Jedi Council acts on Justice, not the profit of the Senate. If anything I'm sure the Jedi Council will approve of your actions and back you up in court.

no, we actually dont, we be renegades, or was it the jedi council that hired us. hmm, i cant remember. i think if they needed to check it out, they would go ahead and send an actual jedi out here.

Well, we shall see what your fellows think!

I was talking to Denz and Jovan 😛

oh, sorry, you didnt specify so it sounded like you were talking to me. seriously, it did.

Renegades-
Not a half bad idea. I'm sure Nostrum wouldn't disagree if he also has a copy. I'm all for it, since it was Mando's idea he can word it to Nostrum.

Well, my justification is that there was in this example more than one way were they didn't had to resort to violence and kidnapping in order to simply gain the attention of the Jedi. I'm not so fond on people getting kidnapped in general...

As for your second question: yes, just like Denz said. They also surrendered without a problem; their leader also quickly stopped his action.

Is it possible for one of us to stay to watch the trial? In order to be sure they get a fair trial? I mean, I don't want them to get lifelong sentences for this...

I'm having difficulties understanding were my loyalty should lie.
Obi-Wan yells in Episode III that his alligience is with "democracy, with the senate!". So does this mean we serve the Council first and the Senate second? Or is this sort of a grey area were you can do what you want as long as there is a good logic behind it?
