I guess what you said here:

How about this:

Telemovies that are a single film, and not based off of another series will be acceptable. If the telemovie is a spin-off of an existing series, it will not be allowed.

Nobody else has any input for this idea?

I've already offered my thoughts on it. I think telemovies would be okay as long as they can draw on only referenced material or feats straight from the movie, to limit the amount of tv canon reference. Ideally, telemovies that are series premieres/launchers would be fine, because they have no previous canon to milk and thus would only go by movie feats.

That wasn't very nice.

I don't see why we can't use telemovies. It's a damn movie so it should be allowed. And it's not like people are going to come out the woodwork with characters from telemovies if it's allowed anyway. Sometimes you'll get some bullshit, but that already happens anyway.

The problem there is that people will add feats from episodes following the telemovie, guaranteed.

I highly doubt that since it'd be from episodes, and the people who mainly debate on here i'd like to think aren't that stupid.

that happens already with movies anyway..

Why(besides the title of the forum) aren't television characters allowed to be in threads here?

Yes. I must agree. Characters from television media whom would be great to debate about, against both their tv peers and film characters, don't get that chance at all.

Pretty much, you just answered your own question.

We all know the answer to this.

🙄

Why are you so strict with the rules at hand? As if having tv characters here would end all order in this particular forum.

This the MVF, M for movies. Movies with a theatrical release, or straight to DVD, not associated with TV. If he allows TV movies, then it becomes the TVMVF.

Do I need to spell it out for you?

MVF stands for "MOVIE Versus Forum".

I admit that, for example, Pennywise has been used in particular threads in the past, and that is why I have brought up the motion to amend characters from telemovies into the MVF rules.

Either offer an opinion as to why you agree or disagree or leave.

I disagree because it'd be quite easy to have an intelligent debate with a television character and a movie character. You mentioned Pennywise, I bring up Data. I'm not asking you to change forum's title but damn, closing down a thread just because one character is from an HBO series is a little......harsh.

Is it impossible for live-action television characters to be debated alongside live-action movie characters or......

I agree, DM. Which is why I am contemplating amending TV film characters into the MVF. Would you like to offer an opinion, or keep asking why I closed your thread?

Versus forum. There, I said it.

I like the idea of only keeping it to "unique" telemovies: movies that stand on their own but are not associated with any standing television series.

I.T. is a perfect example.

They call these "made for tv, movies."

I never asked you why you closed that thread. Opinion?
