Xavier quickly and with grace activates his saber to deflect any shot coming at him.

The sniper fires an 11, not enough to get past your defense. You deflect the high-powered rifle shot.

More snipers start to appear up along the junk pile to your left... as do more on the right!

Trax looks back when he hears your lightsaber ignite, then ducks into the ship to retrieve his blaster rifle.

How many are there and are they out of reach for Xavier to engage in close combat?

About twenty, spread between the two junk piles on either side of you and in sets of three as you head upwards, except for singular men at the top of each.

All are cluttered amongst the junk. It is three frames to a junk pile from where you are, three frames between the varying heights, and the snipers have spread themselves each a frame apart.

Xavier will use blur to try and outrace the next set of blats going for the nearest pile.

They are of equal distance. Which would you prefer, left or right?

Xavier will go left.

Left it is!

Before you manage to clear out of the field of barrels, however, one of your attackers- a mercenary atop the right-hand mountain of trash- takes a shot at you. Wait, not at you... at the chemical cannisters next to you!

He rolls an 16, which does just fine. The cannister he hits explodes violently, showering you in ignited chemical. You dive away from the burst, leaving you open to further attack and taking 9 damage.

The Mercenary and one of the snipers (left, first section) has already fired... but Trax comes to join you, rifle ready.

Xavier will use master saber thorw to target three of snipers at Left Trash Pile- First Section while running towards Left Trash Pile- second Section. He will use Dodge for defense.

First Xavier will use defend for defense.

Then he will use master saber thorw to target three of snipers at Left Trash Pile- First Section and then he will Blur towards Left Trash Pile- second Section.

Here we go...

All the snipers and their bosses are wearing hazard suits, like yourself, giving them a -1 penalty and a point of armor... not that a lightsaber cares about armor, of course. They also have a point of cover, strewn amongst the trash.

Trax fires first, though! He rattles off shots at the pirates to the right, rolling 18, 18, and 8. The first two are definite kills as he sprays their areas with lasers and some slip past their cover. The second is only a hit for one...

Now the snipers. They each take single shots against you, ignoring Trax even as he advances on the right trash mound. A single sniper on the right pile gets a hit against you for 7 damage with a 20, and the sniper captain tries to shoot a cannister... but a 5 is a miss.

Dashing forward after deflecting numerous sniper shots, you fling your lightsaber forward and direct it to slash across the left pile. 8, 20, 9... the first two snipers are decapitated by the passing blade, but the last one only takes a severe wound across the chest. Chunks of wreckage are sliced off as the lightsaber passes as well, clattering down the pile.

Are there any canisters by the snipers that Trax could shoot and blow up?

If so, "trax blow up the canisters!"

Either way Xavier will use Dodge, and a headbutt on one of the pirates closest to him.

No, they are all arranged at the bases of the piles, where you were standing.

Dodge can only be used against one attack, and if you Defend they will get another shot at you.

Could he blow it up at the base of mine to mkae it harder for them to target me?

Dang it decisions decisions. Xavier will go with Defend.

Is that two Defends to cover both waves of incoming shots or one?

Go with two.

My apologies, I forgot to note the armor from your hazard suit. I will remove two points of damage.

And silly me, I also forgot that you cannot Defend without your lightsaber! I will make it a dodge against the Sniper Captain that turn, and he misses.

And again, another error! Trax has a Speed of 8, not 7, and so he is able to act ahead of the snipers before they fire. He finishes off the sniper next to him (using two of his dice), then injures another in the next section.

The next volley of sniper fire comes in, the single shots bursting about you as you dodge and weave without your lightsaber. From the left side, two shots from the second and third sections skim the protective layer of your hazard suit, for 13 damage total. From the right side, another pair of snipers clip you for 13 damage as well. These rifles pack a punch!

The Mercenary dislikes having this green prune-faced alien shooting up his minions. He fires at Trax, rolling a 20, for 12 damage.

Yes and finish the last sniper with a snapped attack.

"Get the green one!" the Sniper Captain shouts to the snipers on his mound. Instead of targeting you, the snipers above you decide to take the better shot at Trax. Three 19s are rolled... brutal! He takes 24 damage.

You fair the slightest bit better, but you are still taking a great deal of damage. Two 19s and a 20! 16 damage sustained...

The Sniper Captain guns for you... missed!

The Mercenary drops his sniper rifle and Draws a pair of blaster pistols. His twinned shots go 1 and 17... a miss and a hit! Another 10 damage for Trax...

Consider that sniper killed in a snapped strike from you.
