STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Runaway

"Especially if it is YOUR life. So, leaving the homing beacon in, then? I still want to find out where it is. Don't need to be followed around by the Jedi Order the rest of my life."

Xavier hesitates because he knows that his Master would fight to save Xavier's life. Xavier would do the same.

"Yes of course, you can find the tracking beacon."

Trax locates it in the engine room, stuck under a panel.

During the flight to Ord Janon, Trax does his best to patch you up. He grumbles about being a better pilot than a medic, but manages to get you down to 25 damage, with rest and bacta.

When you come out of hyperspace over Ord Janon... it seems that Friste has beat you there. The Ravaging Claw, the ship you have been hunting, hangs in orbit, embroiled in battle with Republic starfighters. The Z95 Headhunters (which look like X-Wings but with only one set of wings) zip about trying to breach the shields and catch the slave freighters as ships like yours descend to the surface.

"Trax we need to land, we'll do no good in the air. Friste will also be leading the attack."

"Might want to contact the depot, Xavier," Trax says. "If you haven't noticed, we're flying the same ship that the pirates are attacking with..."

Xavier was already in the midst of getting ready to do that 😛

"This is Xavier Kolarn of the Jedi Order here to lend assistance. We are attempting to land but are in one of the pirate vessels." He will give them there ships id so they don't shoot them down.

The base captain from earlier responds to your message, very happy to see you.

"Thanks for the heads up, Jedi," Captain Somos says. "Our batteries are giving them trouble, but they'll be getting their men down to the surface any second now. Our fighters are having a go at their cruiser, but they're not having much luck. Do you have any idea what they want with Ord Janon?"

"They have brought a Sith Artifact known as the Key of Mortez. I am to assume they will use it to open something on Ord Janon. As to what that could be I have no idea."

"There's NOTHING on Ord Janon, I guarantee that," Somos says. "Nothing but our base."

"Do you keep anything in the base that is classified, or do you know of anything that was here before Ord Janon?"

"Ord Janon was colonized by the Republic navy solely to put a military base out here," Somos explains. "You're not going to find any secrets here. We just... ar... ivi..."

The hologram flickers and goes out. Communications jam! At least they know you are coming.

As Trax races towards Ord Janon, he flies evasively as both sides try to mess with him. The Republic fighters don't know who you are, but the pirate freighters do; they picked up your message to the depot. They fly a straight course down to the planet but fire off their turrets as you catch up with them.

"Hold on to something," Trax grumbles as he pulls the New Beginning into a spiraling dive towards Ord Janon's atmosphere.

Xavier puts his hand on the controls in front of him as he braces for any impacts.

A few shots ricochet off the shields and there is a dead-on hit to the ship's side that causes Trax to lose control for a brief moment, but he regains the ship and brings it down into the atmosphere. The pirate ships leave off as they have to contend to the anti-starship batteries that send up proton rockets and turbolasers from the surface.

Trax faces no resistance as he lands, the Republic soldiers on the ground taking it as a sign that you have arrived. Captain Somos is there to greet you when you get out.

"I'm preparing my men to repel the ground assault," Somos reports. "These pirate scum no match for trained soldiers."

"Normally this would be the case, but the men leading them are not to be underestimated," Xavier says as he follows the Captain.

"Why, who is this Friste that you mentioned?" he asks.

"He is fallen Jedi who has become obsessed with power. He has also another fallen Jedi accompanying him. We must locate Friste as soon as possible. Whatever he is here for, he is not the kind of person that leaves it to others."

"I'll leave them up to you, then, Jedi," Capt. Somos says, cocking his laser pistol to charge it.

Trax moves The New Beginning into cover behind a building before joining you with his assault rifle. Above, one of the pirate freighters explodes when a proton rocket strikes it straight on. The others try to get past the Republic fighters that have pulled back.

"Are you able to handle two Dark Jedi?" Trax asks, carrying his rifle over his shoulders. "I've seen you fight, but... I've seen Friste fight, too. And Xorn."

Xavier remembers the last time he fought Friste.

"It would have been possible if I was 100 percent, but right now no. We will need Master Cabas to arrive shortly with help."

"Let's hope that he does," Trax says, shifting his rifle to his hands. "Or we're done for."

Soon enough, some of the pirate freighters slip past the fighter block and descend on the base. Another freighter goes up in flames when a turbolaser scores a direct hit and it crashes into one of the barracks. The four freighters that make it past land on the landing strip and immediately pour out twenty pirates each, eighty total. Friste must have scraped together all of the pirates in Svidrigailov's fleet.

Around the landing strip, the base captain has his men set up in cover behind sandbags and metal crates and building doorways. He has sixty men with assault rifles. Six more, however, are operating the field guns he has set up to repel the pirate ships.

When the fourth ship sets down, Friste steps out of it with his tremendous blaster pistol. Xorn gets out behind him, two-pistoling it.
