Does the Joker have a shot of taking out Batman if he is prepared like he was in TDK? Of course he does.

Joker even admits his chances of beating Batman 1 on 1 were low.

The Joker is all about preparation and manipulation, he aint a fighter. But because he is a psycho, he could take most ordinary men such as fat cops and unsuspecting gangsta boyz.

Just a thought, though. If the Joker was 'about manipulation and preparation', and a little sissy like you make him out to be, how can you explain that he executed virtually all of his crimes personally?

Joker attempts to be all dark by giving McClane the customary "Do you know how I got my scars" story and exactly when he gets to the word "know" - McClane pulls out a duct-tape concealed beretta and lead-carves Joker a new arsehole.

The Joker wouldn't give John the chance to get any detonators. The Joker is a tactical genius, not some two bit *******.

McClane lacks Wayne's mercy.

John isn't as smart as Bruce. He's damn lucky, I'll give you that. He's so damn lucky that it could qualify as a mutant power. And he's resourceful too, but since the Joker doesn't feel connected to him as much as he does to Bats, he'll be expecting him to come in with a gun and BOOM!

He was smart enough to think of the blocker move idea in Die Hard 3, to escape many nightmare situations in time to escape death and smart enough to be able to make all his opponents dead.

I think McClane's response would be on par with Emil from Robocop's:

"I guess you think you're pretty smart huh...? Can you outsmart a bullet?...."

McClane has his Masters, doctorate and Phd in that field.

Intuitive intelligence is his thang.

Only reason the Joker survives so long in the movie, Batman doesn't use guns or kill. If he did, Joker would have been dead early on.

Lucky for John, he both uses guns and has no problem killing, ergo, Joker eats a bullet.

Without the need for and dancing, devils or pale moonlight.

And you don't think the Joker would plan for this? He would wrap the entire area in C4 just so he could take a few more innocent souls with him in addition to John. I'm not saying McClane couldn't take him down, like I said, he is extreamly resourceful. He's not dumb by any measure, but hes not dealing with a person who thinks rationally.

Per the scenario, Joker is doing this for a reason; to gain something, not just to blow shit up and have fun, jackass.

He'd dine on bullets, served ala McClane.

What time/notice does Joker have...?

Mcclane also could be judged as irrational in his rage.

Scenario 1-McClane wins, sure. This is what he's good at.

Scenario 2-No chance
