Seriously.
Why is someone being voted in by a bunch of younger voters necessarily a bad thing? I mean, the younger voters are going to have to deal with the consequences of whoever ends up in the White House the longest, anyway.
Anyway, I voted. Was pleased to find almost no line at all, yay for going in the afternoon while most people were at work. Probably also helped that I live in a pretty small town.

Well people throw around "Young people don't have enough life experience" "they don't have a family, mortgage, havent been working full times for that many years and may be naive and think they know everything."
But I guess when it comes to voting for Obama its all good and kids are suddenly really responsible, mature and all knowing...move along, nothing to see here. The average 20 year old has more maturity and life experiences then the 50 year old family man and should decide who wins elections.

I like that pun.
It's like '04 again, pick your poison.
We either vote for a Candidate that really hasn't done all that much and there were far more qualified people to win the nomination from the Dem roster, also not picking Hillary as a VP, considering she came within a ****'s hair of winning was an insult, imo.
Or we pick a Rep that started off semi-decent as he was somewhat of a middle-Right kind of guy, but months of him back-peddling on his stances so he'd appeal more the the Far-Right and Religious-loons has ruined him.
Didn't vote for Obama, but I do hope he wins in lieu in McCain, all things considered.
/end rant

So what do you suggest, we raise the voting age to 30, 40 or 50+? And/or maybe restrict voting to those who have families or a mortgage? What's your ****ing point?
Originally posted by RobtardI disagree on the point of Hillary. The vice president is always supposed to be the one that the presidental candidate believes is best suited, in particular in working together as partners.

Sadly, though obvioudly understandably, it is often more of a marketing call.

She was/is suited, she factually has the "executive experience" and Obama won it more so from a popularity aspect, not because of his experience; Hillary was/is obviously popular.

In a perfect world, you're absolutely correct. She was/is suited, she factually has the "executive experience" and Obama won it more so from a popularity aspect, not because of his experience; Hillary was/is obviously popular.
The Clinton's are far too corrupt for my tastes and invite others in the bureaucracy to succumb to their level, like the former Secretary of Agriculture under Bill Clinton (not to say McCain and Obama aren't corrupt). I also feared some vendetta that Hillary might hold with some of her old legislation attempts, like health care, and focusing on picking that back up over other priorities.
