Hooray, four more years of taking an exacto knife to the Constitution!

Why?
Well you made the assumption that McCain would "take a knife to" the constitution...surely you arent implying Obama wouldn't do the same thing?
Hence I said you must be voting for Paul or Barr because Obama wouldn't cut the constitution up any less than McCain will.

I'm fairly confident he'd do it less and in ways that would actually be beneficial. Why would Barr or Paul not cut up the Constitution?

Why so confident in that?
# FactCheck: Obama Promised to repeal Patriot Act, then voted for it. (Jan 2008)
and supporting gun bans doesn't seem very supportive of the constitution.
I don't know much about Barr but I am pretty sure Paul is the closest thing to completely abiding by the Constitution in terms of a voting record..its irrelevant anyone neither of them will win.

"and in ways that would actually be beneficial"
I'm not naive enough to think he won't do anything or that he's perfect, I just think he'll do less and with less destructive effect for the rest of us.

Such as? Give some examples of what he would do?
You're awfully insistent about this aren't you?
What I think is that McCain's policies in general are not good ones and that it sends a very poor message to elect another Republican after eight years of Bush. Obama does not seem as dangerous in any way shape or form. Not to mention that a) the Illuminati may have already chosen the winner b) only Obama and McCain have a chance anyway and c) the other candidates have hardly assured me that they'll do what they say or that what they say they'll do is possible/sane.

I mean, to be fair, the constitution is just as much a piece of law, which can of course be changed. I think it's a pretty good piece, but it's not really perfect.
It was designed specifically to be changed in order to match modern times. We treat blacks and women as equals now after all.

So still what will be beneficial about Obama? "He doesnt seem as dangerous" isnt really an answer lol.

What is the point of a consitution then? If we can just change things like the right to bear arms so easily what is to stop someone from changing our right to freedom of speech for example in the future?

Yes it is.
Would you rather be in a room with a suspected serial killer or a guy who's a little bit smelly and has crossed eyes? Same policy. No matter what happens the only relevant votes will be for McCain and Obama, I'd rather go with the one who I don't think will be as overtly harmful.

Or our right to consider blacks as 3/5 of a person?
The Constitution can and should change because of the people of the country and things that are different now than they were then.
Originally posted by Symmetric ChaosHe might or might not be. He doesn't seem that way, but then again he did publish those things under his name. I'll remain sceptic on the issue. As for changing the constitution, what I said earlier was more or less a direct quote of Ron Paul actually.
So is Ron Paul a racist misogynist? 313

That analogy would work if you said something along the lines of "one says he will kill you, the other says he wont..but will anyway"..who would you rather be in a room with?
I still don't see how you're proving Obama will be less harmful though.

So what you're saying is the Bill of Rights really is "The Bill of Rights...Rights that can be taken away"?

To which I would respond, "only an idiot would choose the one who says he's going to kill you."

So you're saying you want to live in 1776?
