Obama accused McCain of being gun-ho about Iran and N. Korea and not doing shit.
McCain goes on a rant about how he voted for a lot of other small battles to fight genocides and then he talks about a mother handing him her dead son's (a soldier) braclet.. He never mentioned N. Korea or Iran.
He is using common folks to gain sympathy while going around the point.
type this now and these are my true sentiments thus far.
they're both so far a tie, they're both good and bad from different aspects. either one would be (100x's) better than Bush (whom I think is the worst US president ever to hold office -yes, even worse than Hoover-
both are stil hardcore polititians. both sleep with lobbyists. Barack is a wall street suit and mccain's interests lie mostly with the elderly and veterans. and he's probably more of a hawk than bush was. he's already (right now) bashing the hell outta iran and it's gov't. so yes chet, he did mention iran. (and wait for n. korea. he'll mention it. hard) and don't be surprised if he has a personal vendetta cause of what happened to him in asia. and he has an ill temper. a secret; everytime he says "my friend" it means that he's friken pissed off outta his mind. barack's definetelt gonna raise taxes even though he saying he not gonna. both are enourmous spenders and because of it all I remain independent but i'm listening ...

I echo the same sentiments.
However, I thought Obama did better with foreign policy, overall. McCain got his little, "What are you gonna do when he says "I'm going to destory Israel....'No you're not.'" That pissed me off. Obviously, that's EXACTLY what Obama's going to do.(That's sarcasm.) I agreed that we've been spending more than enough time alienating ourselves from the rest of the world these last few years.
I rather disliked how they treated Russia in discussions. They talk about Russia like it's a child. "Bad Behavior" was something McCain used. "Rogue states" was used as a cumulative statement about Russia and North Korea by Obama. Why? Why keep alienating American from them? Why not be a little more diplomatic instead of this finger pointing and bickering? Like that will ever get anyone anywhere. Sure, there's a time to cinch up you belt, roll up your sleeves, and knock someone the **** out. But do we really need to continue to antagonize Russia?
Did anyone notice that McCain got the left side of the Television screen? Didn't want anyone to see that huge bulge on the left side of his face, did they. (It could have just been a coincidence. I don't remember if the dems and reps have a certain side in these debates...I can't remember.)
As I understand both candidate won't tolerate a nuclear Iran. Hmm...I might have to follow closer on this issue.
I'm glad both touch on the economy and both came out with interesting ideas. Seems like it is the priority at this time. I'm glad this is moving away from a circus and into a more focus election. I find myself attractive to this election more....we'll see how the Palin and Biden turns out.

My response was, "The fundamentals of our economy are strong." It pissed them off, very much.
They were trying to convince me of how horrible Obama was and how awesome McCain was BY convincing me how horrible Obama was. Such as, "McCain is awesome because Obama wants to kill babies." I responded, after their BS, with, "If I was to take a guess, I'd say you've used that same exact fallacious logic to decide that McCain was your candidate of choice?"
Silence.
They didn't even understand what I just said, nor did they realize they were committing a logical fallacy.
One is a professor, one is a med school student, and one is an accountant. They were the main participants. These are the types of people we have voting for McCain, and yet, they still can't form a logical thought.
