I fold the tortilla in half and stuff it with Ham & Cheese, then shove it in the toaster. BUT an eye on it. the cheese ends up melting on the hot wire and its not the first time the toaster catches fire.

Last time at work, the fire alarm tripped because of that.

When I make quesadillas, I use a thin layer of vegetable oil in a skillet and cook both sides evenly.

I only used a skillet once, and as you said some oil.I find the pop up toasters better because they give that extra crispiness to the dough
