Why DO People Fall Out of Love?

Love is not an all encompassing word - it means different things to different people. You can't use your experiences of it to generalise about every single relationship where the word 'love' is used.

Maybe they weren't in love in the first place? Please, do reveal to me what sort of graph or whatever you're using to measure the phenomenon.

I agree, but there is a difference between Love and True Love.

What's that, then? How is it measured?

Well, this is only how I see it, mind you......

"Love", I agree is a term that is thrown around loosely, two people can feel in love, can mistake incredible infatuation for love, this infatuation can die out over time.

"True Love" will stand the test of time. Not saying everything will be roses, just that whatever problems the two face, they will come out of it together. It's love in it's finest and rarest form. Sadly, some people go their entire lives without experiencing this.

What about if the people love each other, always do, but still split up regardless?

Then they are idiots for not embracing it and being together.

Haha, I love how you simplify the huge tapestry of human emotions into such statements, so very child-like.

Well it's true. If two people are in love, why wouldn't they want to explore it?

Because it's not always that simple. That true love always wins through in the end stuff? Yeah, that's rubbish, RJ.

Rubbish to you, not to me.

I think the reasons were basically named earlier already. 1) people change, 2) not everyone that says or thinks that they are in love actually are.

Exactly, I agree with both point, this is not "True love."

Meh, I think "true love" as opposed to "love" is just made up bullshit, probably by hollywood, that mostly girls buy. To me it seems that it's the exact same thing as love, just that it works out until one of the people die. Imo, we don't need a separate word for that.

scenario

you truly love a girl and she truly loves you. your together for a year, then militia capture you both and throw you in solitary jail cells forever on opposite ends of a facility. how can LOVE PREVAIL in this scenario??????? BS. sumthing are too strong for some people to overcome even if u truly love sum1. also, unrequeted love can be true as love is an emotion felt by individuals, and yet it can never work as the other person isnt interested.

Exactly, we all don't see love the same way. Is my way rubbish just because it's different than yours?
