Definitely an improvement on the voice, they said they were going to work on that apparently. It does look like it will be one of the better remakes to come out. I also like how they have gone deeper into the medical side of sleep/insomnia, I can't remember if they did in the original.
yeah, the whole concept of micro naps is pretty cool. It took them what? 8 movies to think of that?
anyway, I think the trailer looks awesome. Some little things bothered me.... specifically jackies height in some shots (little things, get it?) but otherwise his performance looks great and the acting on the teenage side doesn't seem too bad either
Originally posted by The NuulI am a fan of both series but to call NOES cheesy and not hellraiser is a little absurd. Especially the cartoonish way the cenobites are defeated and the monster on top of the supermarket cart.
That is still not really a good Horror film and is cheesy/campy. IMO Hellraiser is a better horror movie

I don't remember a supermarket cart in the first Hellraiser... must watch again.
What everyone has to consider is that the original came out when that concept hadn't ever been used.
An alleged paedophile who murders children in their sleep with a claw hand was a breath of fresh air to older horror fans, and it was something that haunted actual children for ages.
We're all older and wiser now, we're not going to be afraid that Freddy Krueger is coming to get us when we sleep. If it still manages to convey a successful and renewed sense of terror despite this, then it has done above and beyond what was expected.

Jackie Earle Haley is still way more intimidating as Freddy Krueger than any of the other iconic slashers.
I'd be way more scared of him than Jason or Michael.

.... his hat would reach my neck.
lol. but like I said his performance should be great as usual.
Originally posted by Spartan005It all comes down to personal preference in the end. I was and have always been a huge fan of noes. My favorite nightmare wasn't the first one but rather the third which is unique among nightmare fans I think.
yeah I have to agree. the original NOES is completely overated. Great concept, poor execution
