ok, so when the others arrive I'll relay that message. If the others arrive fast, I'll wait with talking to the marshall.

They are pretty much here now.

Vera-Kin likely also senses how angry Marshall Shan seems to be feeling, and will approach him while the others discuss things with Colonel Minas.

"What is the matter, Marshall?" Vera-Kin asks him, if he stops for her.

The Marshall gives orders to withdraw all forces from the defensive ring ready for transportation.

Minas objects that this will destroy the entire strategy, but the Marshall says that those are his orders.

"What?!" Xeth says upon hearing this, objecting alongside Colonel Minas. "You can't be serious! What is the meaning of this?"

He feels a flash of anger himself, having just talked to Wentar about how the Selenian troops that died did not die in vain as the Valley was held. However, he realizes there must be a reason that Marshall Shan is angry as well and waits to hear his response.

"Those Culists have begun slaughtering the civilian population of the cities in the occpupied area," says Shan. "The Ministry just ordered me to move all forces to the defence of the cities above all other considerations."

"But won't the failure of the defensive ring mean that the Cultists will gain MORE cities?" Xeth asks. "I understand those civilians need rescuing, but this is too much."

"This is not something we can argue, I feel," Vera-Kin says. "It is out of the Marshall's hands. The best we can do now is to support this new approach, and see to it that we rescue as many civilians as we can from the Techno-pirates."

"Sooner or later it will mean thaty, yes," says the Marshall. "We can't hope to defend the cities AND hold their advance; their numbers advantage is too great. But I suppose the ministers are right. We cannot stand by and let them kill everyone. It will sure as hell cost us, though."

"That it will," Xeth says. "But yes, I will stand by you on this. The civilians have no defenses of their own against the Cultists. My team of Knights is in dire need rest, and our ships need repairs or they'll fall apart, but how can we be of use to you in this new endeavour, once we have had a moment to catch ourselves?"

He doesn't want you wasting your time at the cities. Those will be attrional defensive battles, and he feels you have shown your worth more in a striking sense. He doens;t think the enxt such engagement will be for a little while.

"The leaders of the other nations' forces are arriving now. I am calling a strategic conference to discuss our next move."

"Coordinating everyone's efforts would be wise. We need to take full scope of what we now have to combat the droids with. Don't think I didn't notice those Battlecrawlers. I'm hoping the other nations brought toys that will be just as destructive..."

"Familiarize ourselves with the other nations and their leaders, we should," Vera-Kin says. "Hopefully they will prove to be as steadfast and brave as the Selenians have been, Marshall. I admire your people's valor greatly."

Well, he appreciates that but as a professional he'll save his praise until after victory.

You can indeed look at the incoming forces; meanwhille, this conference will be beginning as the situation and possible ways forward, is discussed.

Do we have to choose between the incoming forces and the conference?

We can mix it all up.

Cool. Vera-Kin will want to see what the other nations are packing, since the Selenians had their skimmers and their airspeeders. How many nations are there again (and their names if we can get them)? What kinds of vehicles and weapons did they bring? How many troops are they supplying and are they any different (rules-wise) than what the Selenians already have?

Xeth will be sure to attend the conference, sitting with the Selenian party if he may. He will leave his sonic blaster and Elitist laser cannon on the Nexu, but wear his lightsaber proudly.

Wentar is going to spend most of his time at the conference. He's curious about what the other nations have brought, but he's more curious about what the leaders have to say.

There are five nations in total.

The Selenians prefer fast striking forces, and they have the intelligence and special forces troops.

Their rivals the Dorgonath have the heaviest industry and produce the heavy equipment.

The Elerians are an island nation who don't have much of a standing asrmy, but they have the decent starfighters.

The Kaldak are the 'primitive' people in a Gungan sense, iin that they have deliberately chosen to remain in a relatively unsophistcaed state, though they still use technology for all kind of living conveniences. They have the animal mastery schtick, and their infantry forces seem to be handlers controlling snarling dog-like warbeasts.

Finally the Gothan are a relatively poverty-stircken coalition of the 'rest of the world', from a continent that has had the most economic problems over time. They are too poor for sophistication but they can send the most men with their levies.
