Blending all these different advantages together is bound to have a beneficial effect on our confrontations with the battle droids. The Selenians can strike fast and then get heavier firepower from the Dorgonaths, the Elerians allow us access to space, and the Kaldak and Gothan will be good supporters.

What skill would it be to ride one of the Kaldak warbeasts?

In any case, Vera-Kin will join the others at the conference.

The ones the Kaldak have borught are not riding beasts, they are large dogs.

"Take apart a droid in half a second flat," one of the handlers boasts, keeping two of them under contro.l.

"Believe it, I do," Vera-Kin says. "Are they able to distinguish between friend and enemy? I assume so."

"Different upbringings, different environments, different ways of life. I feel it'll hard for them to come up with a plan that everyone agrees with," Wentar comments to Xeth, his eyes then falling on the Gothan. "A poverty stricken nation becoming the bulk of the infantry force? That doesn't sit right with me..."

considering everyone is at the conference I'll take the tour of sightseeing the incoming forces... just so we got that covered too

Vlad felt a stinge of defeat even then, but brushed it aside. He has to be resolute and determined, only that will keep him going. The federation shall be beaten back.

He turned around to Xeth, the more familiar of the group, as this was not the first time he had crossed paths with him, he grinned. "While you sit here taking care of your leg, I shall proceed to go ahead and evaluate the technology we're going to be bringing out onto the battlefield..." he said as he trailed off. He had some time before the conference and he wanted to see the armies for himself.

Looking over them, it wasn't as easy as he thought it would first be.

"Each nation is quiet different... This is going to take some strategy and planning to unite this army effectively."

Ush, you said the Selenians and the Dorgonath are rivals. In a hostile kind of way?

Yes, there is a lot of tension between those nations.

"Oh, surely," says the handler, ans one of them tries to take your hand off, in an affectionate way. "Clever things, really, Anyway, drodis make them unhappy. Looks like a living thing, scent is all wrong. They'll know what to do."

Do note that the levies are the most numerous simply because the Gothan are the most numerous! It's not an exploitation issue, though the fact there is a poverty-stricken area on the world is one issue of the fact this world is divided.

Not that all the unified Republican worlds are necessarily paragons of paradise.

Ah, not so bad then. Still, despite how needed it is, Wentar is still unhappy about the idea of levies, 'tis in the same ballpark as slavery to him. But he'll work with it out of necessity though.

Well, levies are troops raised in time of need as opposed to being a permanently standing army,. Whilst in general history, levies have tended to be used as one landowner's private army, in this scenario they are being raised to stop the world being invaded by the Feds, so the levies are probably happy enough to fight.

Hmmm, fair enough.

Xeth walks along with the others, trying not to rely too much on his cane but being careful not to put undue pressure on his leg. He is lucky to even have it at all and wants it to heal correctly.

"Feel free, my friend," Xeth says to Vlad, thinking back to the young Jedi mowing down battle droids on the world of Arminium. "Tell me if you find anything impressive."

Then he responds to Wentar, knowing the Jedi's history with anti-slavery efforts. "I do not think that the Gothan mind. It is simply because there are so many of them that they have become the majority of the ground forces. But if I see any signs of exploitation of the Gothan people, I will be sure to put a stop to it for the purposes of our fight against the Federation.

"But I agree... it will be difficult meshing the fighting forces of these nations together. I am particularly worried about the Dorgonath and the Selenians. My hope is that they will unite to save Alura rather than Dorgonath slighting Selenia to save itself, or vice versa. The Selenians have already taken a beating, I pray that the Dorgonath do not take advantage of that. All nations are under attack, here."

The strategic conference is beginning. As well as Colonel Minas, Marshall Shan and yourselves, there is also the Dorgonath Battlemaster, the Elerian Air Marshall, the Kaltan Prime and the Gothan Warchief.

You are all standing around the command table, the round, flat white-topped piece of equipment that updates the strategic situation for you.

"Well then, let's see what a couple of Jedi and five nations combined can do to stop the Federation..." sais Vlad as everyone gathers around the command table.

"I am sure that there is much that we can accomplish from this unified effort from the Aluran nations," Xeth says, standing at the fore of the Jedi. "The Selenians, with our assistance, have made great efforts to contain the Federation threat, in anticipation of your arrivals. I am Xeth Tam, the leader of the Jedi Investigation Force, and we ourselves are being assisted unofficially by the Jedi Order."

Xeth hopes that he is not being too forward by beginning the conference by introducing himself and the others to the newly arrived leaders of the armed forces.

Wentar will remain quiet behind Xeth for now. Should I blow a force point on Empathy here?

Yes, the other nations' leaders have eben told who you are, and they've heard much about your efforts.

However, they share Shan's attitude, that this is no time for self-congratulation; not until the treat is contained. Now the Federation landing zone cannot be contested, more and more forces are pouring in from space. Getting enough forces from toher nations here is difficult, due to Federation space superiority. Luckly, atmospheric transports staying under the shiled are still safe. Regardless, the Federation army is bigger.

This 'Cirus Cannes' has boradcast an ultimatum.. He says it will be more efificent for the population of this world to oeprate its industry in his support, but if need be he can use robots as workers and eliminate the 'unproductive' elements of this world. This is a threat he is extending to any nation that offers further resistance.

Is there something I should spot while I'm looking at the troops?

Whats new? I have temporary bout of net-iness.

Can Vera-Kin use Scan to get the general mood of each of the leaders?

"Give in to the demands of Cannes we should not," Vera-Kin says. "Alura would become a tributary to the Techno Union, producing droids such as the ones that fight your people so that Cannes may conquer and subjugate other worlds such as yours. You must remain a free people."

They are actually relatively focussed. Cannes' threat has left them in no doubt of the stakes. But they won't let their peopke be salughtered for nothing; they need a route to victory.

Shan reports that as well as the forces attacking the cities in the zone, now the Feds can break out of the Valley they are making a new move. They are massing a large strike force, ready to start a move towards the Selenian capital.
