Ok! Well, she did not specify a group so you two will go for the first.

As ever for this battle, you guys get auto initiative on the first turn. You move in for the kill! Vera is only rolling seven dice with Block up, but she gets precisely yhe four successes she needs for two kills. Jovan overkills wth six, incxluding a conversion from a '1'.

Bad guys fire! That is eight attacks on you each. However, Vera's extremely defensive posture is highly effective against easily-killed opponents, trading her offence for high defence; she comes out well. Jovan takes more, but considering the odds it is not a disaster.

The tank fires! It lands a hit on Vera and a near-miss on Jovan. Both of you avoid the worst of the blast, leaving Jova unharmed but Vera takes a glancing hit. Sadly, with you guys next to each other there are not many droids next to you right now to also get caught in the blast, but one does.

Remember, if you want to do any swaps, they are always at the start of the turn.

"Split up!" Vera-Kin shouts to Jovan after the tank slugs an energy round at them, realizing the error of sticking close to each other when a heavy gun is pointed at them, and also the use the area effect could have against their foes.

Vera-Kin breaks off for the group of ten battle droids while Jovan keeps after the other droids, hoping to draw the attention of the tank and of this other group to lessen the pressure on Jovan.

She will tap Balanced Guard and attack a pair of battle droids.

if battledroids are mooks, I'll tap that (if they are that) to hit the group of 5. Is my Orthodox guard still on?

After this round I'm sure I have to go b ack to healing

Sadly you guys lose initiative, which leaves the firing this turn on the same terms as before, and no battle droids can be hit by the area effect. However, Vera'sw tap keeps her safe. I'll say she takeas the eight attacks to Jovan's 7. This much enemy firepower is causing Jovan trouble... however, the tank totally cocks up its shot.

Then you guys go. Vera gets into the other group, again cutting down two with a good roll.

Jovan kills 2 as well... but obviously I have no idea what 'that' is he wants to tap. Clarity in orders, guys! But your Guard is on, yes- it always is until you say otherwise.

Can you retreat during a turn or only after that particular battle has finished? 'Cause I do not see myself surviving the attack on the tank

Ok, if you tap Cleave on that turn, you will be granted five points of immunity against hits from those Mooks.

You can run away in a fight but against ranged opponents they will get another round of shots off at you.

I'll ask vera but after killing those droids, I just want to be far away from any damage

I had a feeling that would happen. If you want to tap Cleave, feel free, Jovan.

Swap Balanced Guard for Orthodox Guard. With a higher Defense and the Parry from Block, we should be in business...

Vera-Kin keeps up her efforts against the battle droids, cutting a leg out from under one so that it falls upon her lightsaber, then using the Force to yank it off and sending the split pieces at another battle droid.

Initiative is yours! Jovan cuts down his last target and Vera takes down two more of hers. Four droids fire at Vera, two at Jovan. They score a success each on Jovan, leaving him unharemd with three saves remaining. Damage to Vera is light. The tank fires at Vera, though, and rolls very well, causiong her a glancing hit. No droid left next to ger I am afraid.

Hold up. Do Defense and Parry not work against Heavy Weapons? Because otherwise, with a Defense of 3 and a Parry of 1, the tank should not even be able to get close to hitting me...

A Parry can make it miss you as such, but it still counts as a success for the near miss.

Alrighty then.

Vera-Kin realizes that she is tiring after fending off droids and taking a near hit from the tank, scattering droids and dirt and heat about the area. She needs to press on and decides to make a greater effort. She flips her way through a pair of droids, decapitating both cleanly, then starts deflecting incoming fire.

Tap Orthodox Guard, tap Block, tap Cleave (after this attack).

If I go upclose to the tank, can it still fire at me or is its cannon unable to shoot someone who's pretty much standing next to it?
If so, it might be interesting that I already start hitting the tank? Otherwise we are standing together again just like at the start of this battle and can be more easily hit...

An acrobatics roll (Agility) will get you to a postiion where it cannot fire at you, though those Fed tanks can turn pretty fast.

I like it more to split up with Vera.

Well, a lot would depend on initiative.

I say go for it, Jovan. I think maybe you should tap your Guard though. It will keep you safe and make sure you bring down the tank.

acrobatic roll to reach the tank, in the mean time tap guard to keep me safe and when I reach it, positioning myself so that its cannons and stuff can't hit me and then chop it up

just remind myself that if I have to leave, I should use defensive leap
