USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE IV (DARK SIDE)- Destiny

I think Ush has been hinting that there lot more info to be found on SNK, and I am not sure about Kuylen. Maybe Dak can help Galder?

Or maybe Con can research into the Lady itself? We are looking into obscure force-using cultures here, so high savoir-faire would be very useful.

That kind of thing is DEFINITELY Jedi Lore.

Well, it looks like we are fairly committed then.

The Kuylen search... is a bust. Finding information on him even when he was a Jedi is near impossible, and the records for a man now declared dead three times are not in a good state.

You do get the following:

- Kuylen was born the heir to a great fortune and landed title- a province on Charnel and seevral entire planets bonded to it as part of the Tasker's Crown area. But he was legally declared dead not long afterwards as soon as it became clear he was to be a Jedi. The Charnellians are not great fans of the Jedi but the declaring dead is more practical than spiteful; it allows someone else to inheirt the title.

- His second declared death is when he was apparently eaten by w Rancor on a mission to Hutt space. Galder knows that Kuylen faked this whilst making deals with the Hutts as he began his search for the Avalar archive; he asked his Padawan (Argentis_ to come with him but Argentis refused. Kuylen later killed Argentis on Damagran with the pupil tried to stop his old master.

- His third was a troughly the same time you guys called him dead when the wreckage of his ship was found on Prias, though you think this time even the Bureau was going to stay open-minded about it

Trying to get any leads from his old associates has been impossible. You cannot get very deep into the Republlic to see many of them. The pirates in the Damagan area (who, in any case, turned on him) have actually recently abandoned Jaglon Beta and in the intervening year have become a nomadic group raiding places for loot and plunder (bit of an issue that one; another nail in the 'The Republic does nothing to help outlying systems' coffin, which is where the whole first campaign started long ago, Kuylen's first mission to his group being to destroy the battlecruiser that had been sent to try and allay such rumours... and the desturciton of which prompted the Jedi to go investigate).

There is no sign he ever returned to Dordellus, you are buggered if you are ever going to Zeiton again, and the only rumours you ever hear ar ethat he was wrking for the Golden Serpent, and it does not take you long to work out that... that's a corruption of the dealings you guys had with them.

Your search was pretty exhaustive, the SF score being rather high, so your conclusion is... if he's alive, he's left the Republic, and you have no idea where he might be and why.

Well, at least we know we don't need to go diving deep into Republic space to find him. That would just be ridiculous, and it makes sense that he has fled (if he fled... if he isn't dead). I mean, we did.

Galder is still unsure why Kuylen would have been at Prias, though Galder knows little of Prias itself.

Do I know more about Prias? Or is there even anything interesting about it?

As far as you know- which is quite a lot- it is uninhabited and there is bugger all there. Kind of place people use for quiet meetings.

Hmm. There had to be a reason for Kuylen being at such a place. But I don't think we'll get to check things out until we get new transponders.

Unfortunately so.

Something to do later, but Con's little tidbit about Prias is something to keep in mind. Either Kuylen has something there or was meeting someone there and allegedly crashed.

How's Tanic's work with finding Flotsam coming?

The term is 'staggeringly well'.

Because he returned two days ago, and this day the Flotsam I has arrived in orbit.

Well, that's handy at least.

Nice...we willbe mobile again.

Winner.

The kudos that Galder is giving you are tremendous and come with free hugs. Or handshakes. Whichever you prefer, Galder normally gives neither unless they kill you somehow. But these are friendly ones. Cash them in any time.

Wow, great job Tanic.

Rand will hail Flotsam I.

"Greetings, AK-07. How glad are we to be graced by your presence? I take it my associate found you and you came as soon as you could, or you would not be here so shortly after his return. How did he reach you?"

For those of you who do not know, the Flotsam I is the ugliest freighter you will ever see. It looks almost as if it has not so much been built but simply formed by three massive freighters of wildly different designs smashing into each other at odd angles, and then bits between them constructed with different materials ans colours over a period of many years.

In fact that IS how it came together, and niceities like life support matter less when there are rarely any people on board, though it does keep one supported area for supplies that need a bio-capable environment.

Its owner, Ak-06, was once a protocol droid, but something happened to it one day- many stories are told as to what. The final result was that its database of millions of languages got more or less erased down to about six. All that incredibly complex translation and grammar analysis software was instead turned towards economics, including a direct remote link- surprisingly reliable- to most of the galactic stock markets (legal or otherwise). Divested of human emotions and whims, Ak-06 has one of the most comprehensive understandings of the concept of supply, demand and profit of... anything you will ever find out there really.

Quite why he is personally interetsed in the money, no-one is sure. How he learned how to build and run a ship, no-one is sure. Why, despite having most of that memory erased and replaced with something completely un befitting that programming, he still has the exact same personality as a protocol droid, CERTAINLY no-one is sure. But his floating fortress of tax-free capitalism is a galactic legend, and you can buy almost anything from him, for the right price. He never betrays, he offers guarantees, and he's just been useful enough (particular to some imporrtant cimr lords for whom he supplies heavily) that no-one has ever quite found it worth the risk in raiding his supplies.

(The fact that the Trade Federation- whom he undercuts quite heavily- have not caught him yet has led to a conspiracy theory that he is some sort of Techno Union experiment).

"Oh! If it isn't Master Rand! Delighted to meet you again, sir. Your most capable associate remembered that an old acquaintence of his in the most dramatically named 'Empire of Piity' once knew an old... less-of-an-acquaintence of his who used to do deals with a certain Melkus Doon, who once found a person to supply him with a heavily armoured land train- one of my more customised orders. Through him he was able to contact me, and when I heard you were all alive and well... and had had the good fortune to come into some money recently... I was more than delighted to come see you sirs."

Damn, so close with the name. Pulled that from memory, too. And good thing you went for it, Tanic, I don't know if any of us would have come up so solid if it weren't for your Contact.

"Why a droid would be interested in money is beyond me, 06," Rand says, "but we certainly have obtained a not insignificant amount of credits through our many tribulations. Did Tanic mention what we were in the market for?"

"Quite why organic lifeforms desire money is a mystery to me, if that does not sound impertinent, sir. You spend your lives accumulating possessions... and then you die, and someone else gets them. It does seem rather a waste. And no, he did not. Apparenrtly he was worried that his message to me might be intercepted and sound suspicious if he did."

"Life would be simpler without monetary values, but alas, such is the Galaxy," Rand says. "Wise of him. I know from your reputation that you do not sell out your buyers, but there are others who might seek to find us with ill intent. I trust our location is safe with you?"

Ugh, that stupid droid, I remember being the one to have to talk to him last time because Melkor kept confusing him...
