USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE IV (JEDI)- Purity

But you didn't kill him out of duty or necessity; you were not thinking of what was right or proper. All you were thinking of... was pure anger.

The Dark Side.

But it has been years since that happened. Gallagher has completed his training and knows how to control his emotions and thinks of his actions.

Sienar wants Gallagher to worry about it, though. No doubts there.

You remember what Yoda said about the Dark Side- once you start down that path...

Hmmm.

But Gallagher does not accept that path! He has lived as a Jedi his whole life and concentrated on maintaining his alignment with the Light Side of the Force.

Btw, Andro does not have his saber. I do...

(Umm... No. Andro took it back.)

Indeed so- but I will need Andro's reply.

Gallagher- your whole life? Are you sure? And the logic that says that once started that path is irrevocable was taught to you from your earliest days. If you genuinely did killa man out of anger and for no other reason then... there is a very serious problem indeed.

It was a mistake and a lapse in his morals that Gallagher allowed himself to kill on such base instincts. But he knows of no other time that he has acted out of anger. Perhaps it is possible for him to resist that path?

Perhaps. And you don't remember it clearly. Mind you, perhaps that's why you don't remember it clearly.

Gallagher, through probably sobbing and trembling as he recalls these events, particularly that moment, is soothed by the idea that maybe he does not have to succumb to the Dark Side since he only tapped into its power once and never wants to again... but he isn't sure.

In any case, he feels that he needs to remember those events more clearly if he is going to be able to talk with Sienar and resist temptations of the Dark Side.

Sienar speaks in a whisper that sounds somehow still powerful.

"You and I, Andro... like I say, we are alike. I mean, don't you just hate all of this bureaucratic posturing? Senators, lawmakers, procedures, regulations... it's all just a cover and a delay for what this is all about, Wouldn't you rather just get to the point? Avoid all this... meandering around? I can help you."

Andro's eyes narrow, he knows better than to trust Seinar, but he can't help but want to know more. If he can just find something to use to end this situation.
"I do hate those things, but I still recognize that they are necessary; in most cases. I do not beleive that this time is one of those times. How, and why, can you help me in this?" He holds up a hand to halt a reply and adds, "I seek no power, so don't try that darkside line with me. I don't seek to side with you. I only seek to end this situation in the best way. So what do you have in mind?"

"It's simple, Andro. Your mission is going to fail. Oh, Roan and Jelena here will say that I am lying, bit you must know that I am not. Thry will tell you not to worry, that you will stop my plans, but I think you are wise enough to believe me when I say that this is not possible- you don't have the time. There is absolutely nothing you can do

"Except for one thing. You already said the answer. The only way to stop me... is to kill me. You must kill me before my plan succeeds. That's the only way, Andro. The only way- not the Jedi way, but the only way that will work. I know you want to do it..."

Andro hesitates. "I do, but.." He looks down and is mildly surprised to find his lightsaber is in his hand.

"Let me tell you something, Andro. I am very good at seeing the future. You know what I see? I see what happens if you do not kill me. I see your failure. I see your shame. I see a fallen Gallagher and my diabolical plan unstopped. I see Roan and Jelena counselling you, over and over, to do things in the proper Jedi way but, you know what? Eventually, if you don't, one of them will come to kill me instead. But too late!

"And I see your anger and your despair then. I see you cursing those that held you back. I see you waking up every day for the rest of your life, saying to yourself over and over- "Why didn't I kill Sienar when I had the chance? I could have stopped everything, but I held myself back! Why? WHY?" You will be haunted for the rest of your life.

"Kill me in time, kill me now and it ends. Oh, there will be great trouble, of course, mostly form the bureaucrats. You will be a murderer and they will curse your name, and that of the Jedi You may even be dead. But how important is your pride? YOU will know that what you did was right. That you stopped my plan- and you saved Gallagher. And the Universe will know. The Force will know. What does it matter what people think? All that matters is what is true, yes? The ultimate truth will be that you stopped me when no-one else could, and nothing can take that away from you.

"Or, you can choose to believe them, even though you fear so much that I am right. And you can do things the Jedi way.... and slowly watch everything go out of control as you see that I am right. And you will have to live with all that shame... for the rest of your life.

"I know what else you fear. Some trick or trap or stratagem I have, some power to save me. But look!"

Sienar lets out a slight gasp.

"Look, Andro! Look at the desk!"

On there you can see, distinct with his grip that includes artificial fingers to make up for Sienar's missing ones, is his lightsabre.

Sienar's voice now rises out of the whisper and comes on, stronger and stronger, somehow now bypassing his internal injuries.

"I've left my lightsabre on the desk! I am defenceless! Oh, I can call it to me... but can I call it to me faster than you can swing that sabre in your hand and cut me down? I don't think so. You can do it, Andro. It is in your power, here, now! Do what is right, what must be done! You are an adult, you need no lectures from me about anger. Yes, you are angry, but it is the anger of the righteous against the iniquitious! You have the power to shape future destiny with what you feel right now. Strike me down, Andro! Strike me down and change it all, forever! Strike me down and stop me now, before it is too late! Do it, Andro!"

He is now shouting, with amazing force and power that reverberates around the room.

"Kill me, Andro. Kill me!. Do it. Do it! DO IT!!"

Roan has had enough. He strides forward and firmly grasps Andro's shoulder.
"Lightsaber. Give it to me."

He then turns to Sienar.
"Enough with your taunts, you may feel you can manipulate some of us, but not me. I will not allow this to go any longer. We are leaving. Do you want to let us out? Or should I make myself an exit?"

Well, we'll be waiting on Andro...

Nothing exists for Andro but he and Seinar. The power of Seinar's logic, a logic that was amazingly and accurately Andro's all along, and the power of that awful command are his whole existence at this moment. It may be wrong... or is it, if the mission succeeds? To save Gallagher. Is saving one Jedi worth the price of losing another? To stop Seinar. Is this, no matter his words, a trap? No, the right way or the wrong way, it is the only way. To save Gallagher. To stop Seinar.

"NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Andro's mind and voice cry out, even as his heart and hand ignite the emerald saber and thrust it forward to run the evil Jedi through.

Now, let's make sure we know what we are about here.

If Andro completes this action it will, of course, remove his character from play, in part because he'll be doing time for murdering a defenceless crippled priest, and in part because this is a fall to the Dark Side for Andro.

Meanwhile, with Roan closing in he can try and stop Andro. This may lead to a fight.

Either way I am afraid Sienar has rather proven a point to you there, Roan... he doesn't 'feel' he can manipulate anyone, he knows it for certain.

(Let's see what Roan or Jelena post. Otherwise, I think I have a good way out. Don't kill him yet. Got to get back to work before I get caught.)

Ahhhh drama!
