"No!" Gallagher says, as flashes of his dreams, the people withering and crumbling, dance before him. "I... I can stop it. I can save them! I do not need the power of the Dark Side to do that."

"Search your feelings, Gallagher- you know what I say is true! The Light Side cnanot save them! its rules and its limits prevents this from happening! Only I can show you how to do it, Gallagher! I have not limited myself as you do. I have that power!"

"What does the Dark Side possibly have that the Light does not?" Gallagher asks.

"Have you not listened to what I have said? The Dark Side does not act within limits! The Light Side COULD have the power... if it did not restrict itself! Only on the Dark can you make happen what you need!"

"I can't give in to the temptations," Gallagher says. "This is exactly what you want, to manipulate me to your side, to make me your student in the Dark Side and help you achieve whatever it is you are planning. What are you trying to achieve, Sienar?!"

"Of course it is what I want! But not as any part of a sinister design on my part. I simply feel it is appropriate that you should understand the true nature of power, and how to achieve what you need.

"You do not understand the Dark Side. You ask why I should want to save those people- well, why should I not? You say the Dark Side always fails. You confuse the Dark Side with the Sith. The Sith failed as they did not appreciate one vital thing. Purity."

"Purity?" Gallagher asks. "What do you mean?"

"Something you should think on. I spoke to you of it on Spiridos. You do not understand- but you will.

"If you do not 'give in', as you frame it.. they will all die, Gallagher. All of them. Why do yuo fear the Dark Side? Why not use it to save them? What difference will it make to you?"

"I will become the thing that the Jedi are sworn to destroy," Gallagher says. "The Dark Side corrupts. No matter my intentions, whether I can save them all or not, it will not stop there."

"That is a lie!" says Sienar. "The Dark Side does not make you a slave- you need the will to stay in control! I have that will! With that, it sets you free to achieve! And with that, and the power of the Force, you can achieve whatever you desire! The Sith desired pointless Empire building, and so destroyed themselves. Your deisres can be different, your power with the Force sufficient to maintain control...

"... but then, why do I need to tell you all this, Gallagher? Why worry about what you call corruption, or 'becoming' anything? Why concern yourself with opening a door you already opened?"

Gallagher clenches his jaw.

"You mean Rundell's death," Gallagher says.

"No, Gallagher. Your memory of events is badly mixed. I killed Rundell. But you know what?"

He leans forwards to your ear, and whispers a horrible whisper.

"I think you DID kill your sister..."

"NO!" Gallagher recoils in terror, lashing out with his open hand to push Sienar away from him, at first with his physical strength, then with the Force as the shock and horror takes control. "NEVER! I... I had no reason, no motive. I wouldn't... I couldn't have, that's preposterous! No Jedi would ever perform such a vile deed!"

He actually stumbles back, his hood coming loose to reveal his face.

"No Jedi, I agree... like no Jedi would keep secrets from the Council, or his own Master... no Jedi would put attachment to family above his duty to the Order and to the law...

"You think yourself a Jedi, Gallagher? Which part of you is that? The part of you that murders defenceless people? The party of you that that cut down your own sister?"

His voice rises to a crescendo.

"Or the part of you that is going to stand by and watch whilst all those people die, when you COULD have saved them! What are you going to BE, Gallagher?"

"What is wrong with the current voucher system?" Jelena inquires. "What do they intend to do to amend it?"

She will also inquire if Deel Twain is part of the business representative group.

One thing at a time.

Well, the voucher system is the current Republican solution to the issues Joylo has outlined.

The theory is extremely simple. Rather than all the complication of trying to re-distribute wealth, the Senate gives out to poverty stricken worlds these interstellar food vouchers. These worlds can then use these vouchers to buy food, and the food companies can in turn redeem the voichers once received for a cash payment from the Senate.

Gallagher falls to his knees, distraught and unsure what to do. He reaches up and runs his hands through his hair, across his flushed and frightened face.

"I can't have done that," Gallagher says. "It is not the Jedi way! I am a Jedi Knight, the Council wouldn't have let me pass the Trials if they had known about this. They wouldn't just bury it!"

"Very forgiving people, the Jedi. Very willing to give second chances if they think it can be done.

"But then you know what Yoda says- once you start down that path... so yes, why indeed would the Council kepe you on? Unless... perhaps they had need of you. Because they knew that you were the one who could tell them about the woman with white hair. They kept you, Gallagher... they made all those agreements with your family, and brushed it all under the carpet... only because they needed you. And they encouraged you in your talent forever more, in the hope you would tell them what they needed to know. You are a tool to them, Gallagher, nothing more."

"That's not true!" Gallagher says. "How could they have known that? The Masters of the Council have greater powers than I, they should not need me for such a task!"

"Some people are born to a task. For a while people wondered if you were the Chosen One. And that you are not... but what they sensed in your destiny was still great and important, and was for you alone. They had need of that.

"And so here you are, Gallagher. A weak and feeble creature, forever to be used by others. Directionless, desperate. And unwilling to even save so many people. What a pathetic thing you are!"

In your earlier outburst, Gallagher, you find that you have drawn your sabre.
