USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE IV (JEDI)- Purity

Started by Alkaselzer121 pages

Gallagher becomes worried upon seeing the blasted door, but it only strengthens his desire for things to end right. He opens his senses, trying to get a feel for the area and the building and see if he can sense where trouble is occuring. He keeps his lightsaber in hand, unlit but ready.

"I'll follow your lead, Master Korth," Gallagher says.

It would indeed be very stange for Suienar to be seen to have masses of money- in fact, he appears to have virtually no personal resources at all.

You're not sure anyone could uy Deel- he's ridiculously rich. As for him being a front, well, you don't understand finance, but...

"How long do you think Sienar has had a hold over Twain then?" asks Sunda.

Andro looks over at the Padawan, blinking. He's silent for a second, stunned, "Wow I can't beleive the three of us missed that. Great thinking, man!" He grins, trying to fit more pieces. "Deel must be Seinar's puppet - Wait. Puppet. What if we took it a step further? What about Deel's fake body? What if that WAS Deel? Could the guy walking around here, the guy who walked up to me just as I declared him murdered- could he be a clone of some type?"

"Isn't that how the Dark Side works?" says Sunda. "They corrupt people to do their bidding?"

As for the cloning thing- is a very rare and difficult science. The biggest problem is this- as far as you are aware, cloning still involves gforwing someone from scratchj, and whilst they casn come ewith certain pre-dispositions they still need to learn things the normal way.

Sunda is less clued in on all this and contineus on. "Well, if he is," he says, "then he can't be a front, can he? I mean, Sienar must have been doing this for years and all that stuff on Spiridos was only last week!"

-

You step inside, Gallagher. Nothing appears wrong in reception. What do you want to do?

Jelena will rule out the clone theory

"That is more farfetched than this seems to be," Jelena says. "Sienar must have brought Twain under his thumb some time ago, if that is the case. What do we know about Twain, Andro? Did you learn anything about him on Spiridos?"

Gallagher will take the lift to a higher floor, basing which floor he will stop on based upon his ability to sense lifeforms.

You can sense extremely well, Gallagher- especially your own sister... you don't even need to take the elevator.

-

"If Sienar has had Twain under control for some time, then what was all that nonsense on Spiridos about?" asks Sunda.

"Hmm, Andro did see the corpse of Twain... perhaps it is not Twain that is here on Mandragos with us," Jelena says. "Meaning we may have a very convincing imposter on our hands."

Cloning seemed incredible to us as far as theories go... but what about someone with intense reconstructive surgery or even a disguised droid? Sienar's men made the dead of Tranquil Repose seem alive by filling them with equipment to dupe the sensors (or so it seemed to me, unless it was just that the sensors were tampered with).

Gallagher, despite never having met his sister, strongly feels his sibling on this bottom floor. He remembers studying cases in his classes at the Temple in which Force-sensitive siblings could feel each others emotions and presences even from great distances and almost read each others thoughts.

I'm coming to help you, Gallagher thinks, concentrating for only a moment despite knowing that his sister lacks the sensitivity in the Force that he has.

"Master Korth, they have not left this floor," Gallagher tells his mentor. "I can sense Kellan not far from us."

(They are on this floor, right?)

Jelena- well, many thing are possible... but you'd sense if he was a droid, he wouldn't read as alive.

But Sunda will mention what he said before- that if that is what has happened, then Twain cannot be a frontm, as that only took plasce last week and the drug smuggling has been going on for years.

-

Sorry, Gallagher, I wasn't very clear. What I meant is that you could sense her from here due to yuor great sensitivity- even though she is on the roof...

Oh, oops. I get it now.

"Master Korth, I sense her," Gallagher says. "Above us... she is on the roof!"

Gallagher hurries into the lift.

I am just holding fire with you right now, Gallagher, as the Jedi compose themselves.

-

Jedi- Sunda's logic is not unreasonable. Whatever the truth with Twain is, it can be assuemd that what was going on on Spiridos was related. Now, you might never find out what that was etc. but in any case it means that the deal with Twain is recent, not ongoing. Whereas accumulating cash from smuggling (and many other areas, incidentally) has eben going on for years, as Gallagher's plotline suggests.

You were discusisng earlier about a clean place to keep the money. If not Twain... then where?

(Sorry for the absence..)

Andro, quiet for a minute while Jelena and Sunda discuss things, another thought strikes him. "Ok, if Twain's yet another in a long line of sources/minions, what about this: Ferradyne is the front. Think of it, all the 'donations' anyone can make, all very legal. Plus, no one would think twice about a Church being worth tons and tons of Credits. You could hide practically an infinite ammount of money that way. Kinda obvious once you think about it."

Well now, that'a true. If the Synod is a registered charity it could be an extremely good place to keep illegal funds, if it has been done right.

(He'd need some sort of clever lawyer of course...)

As it so happens, he does! Unfortunately he is good at helping Sienar cover things. If we tried examining the donations to the Ferradyne, I doubt they would be willing to even help us. And looking at Twain's money... from the sounds of it it could hide amongst all his other mountains of cash.

Yes, looking into Twain's dealings could take forever.

What if we narrowed it down somehow? After all, Spiridos was very recent.

Unhelpful; he's just a client there. And as we've already noted, he cannot be where the money is anyway; too recent.

So it is probably with the Ferradyne, then.

That seems possible. Keep on going.

Would it have to be in the form of a donation, passed off from, say, someone with lots of money?
