Thanos faced off against a bigger threat than Onslaught with help mind you,but the point is he survived and did very well. Thanos has been shown since his last upgrade to mindrape two beings on his own. He didnt need any tech to initiate it.

And it's been proven with scans if you look back that Onslaught is a TP of incredible power. Now you have to prove that without help Thanos can resist that power.
