I stopped watching halfway through this season because frankly it was terrible, but I'll watch the first two episodes of the next season to see if the new show runner has an idea of how to make a compelling tv show (which apparently is something Alan Ball forget somewhere between Six Feet Under and True Blood).
Originally posted by RobtardNo, Russell's impact was greater than any character ever on the show as a season antagonist. Alan Ball kills characters off so crappily you wonder what's his friggin problem.
Sam's kill was LoL worthy, about the only good thing this season.Since Russell had been turned to shit this season, completely not surprised he went out in lame and retarded fashion.

No, it wasn't time for him to die. He was best part of show. I might not watch next year.
I could not get into this show when it first aired. Friends with the Dvd's for season 1-4 lent them to me. I know why i could not watch it,the show does more things bad than it does good, but what it does good, it does real good. This show kind of makes me mad to sit through, knowing it could be a great show instead of a barely decent one. Season one was its high point, if you can call it that, but the show never ever handled multiple plot lines very well. Some were interesting and executed poorly, but most were unnecessary and boring. Watched 4 episodes of season five and was not interested at all, i will wait for the DVD to finish it. They can sure ruin characters on this show, that they are real good at, but who am i to argue with it's success, people love the show. After 5 seasons they must be doing something right for many of it's viewers, just not me.

Don't see why the 500ish is not feasible. In TB, age doesn't automatically make you a superior in the hierarchy of The Authority.
True, but Salome's rationale for exhuming Russell was centered on the idea that he had the best shot by far to axe Roman despite the advantages afforded by Salome's proximity to Roman.

True, but the writers of TB are detrimentally retarded.
True, and what a contagion it's proven to be.
A proper finale for the season would have been for Russell to kill everyone and then migrate to TVD. He and Elijah could have their own spin-off. mmm
Then they go recruit Angelus. excellent
