Saw it today. Absolutely awesome movie, and may be one of the best sequels ever. It has a few issues (there are some cheap laugh moments that were unnecessary, but overall this was one hell of a sequel. The fight scenes are beyond superb, and Tony Stark's character goes through great development in order to reform himself as the Tony we know and love.
Justin Hammer was a bit annoying, but he fit his role well, and Rockwell did a good job. Rourke was an awesome villain, and one of the better comic villain performances out there. His scenes are great.
SHIELD was a treat as well, and Black Widow was hot as hell.
Also: STAY AFTER THE CREDITS. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STAY AFTER. I literally got up and started yelling "YES!"

Basic reviews on IMDB and critics.
well since Iron Man 2 has already made a little over $100 million overseas and will undoubtedly have a great opening weekend here, you should not let a critic or IMDB tell you to stay home, you should get into your car, go to a theater and jiudge for yourself

$$$ doesn't really mean a movie is good or not, imo. Twilight films make a shit-load of cash too.
7.8 at IMDB and 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, considering it just opened up and is still to open in North America, I think it's doing fairly well and these numbers will likely only rise.

I couldn't stay after the credits because the f*ckers at the theater cut the credits!. Me and my girlfriend were the only ones waiting (it was the 1pm showing) and they cut it off 😠
muthaf*ckers!
I had to see on youtube 😐
loved the movie, I think the first one was better, my gf disagrees, but it's still a good movie. The fight scenes are awesome, the FX are superior to the first... mostly. Black Widow kicks ass, War Machine not so much. Hammer was annoying, but fit very well in the movie and Ivan was good villain, but for the most part, barely consequential 😬
what I didn't like was that
Spoiler:why? seriously
everybody wears a suit!
Spoiler:
was able to fight Iron Man without one, will every villain fight him wearing one?
btw: Great use of
Spoiler:, Great Tony! you're the best :up
Cap's shield

I never said I'd stay home, because of a critic or IMDB review, just asking if this was as good as #1. Sequels are like that from time to time. I'll see it in the theater if I still have my job, but other than that I'll probably just rent it.
The raise in ticket prices are what's going to make this movie break records. And I'd rather not pay for such high prices.

I would lol so damn hard if Iron Man 2 beats Avatar. I really hope it does unibeam its box office records to hell...
It won't; here's why:
1) It's not in 3D, so those extra dollars won't be coming in. I think 3D movies average about $3.00 per ticket.
2) It doesn't have the hype that Avatar had. There were 70 year old women going to see Avatar because of the hype that avalanched around Avatar.
I do hope I'm wrong though.
