Good movie but Iron Man 1 was far better.
Spoiler:
THOOOOOOOOORRRRRR!!!!!
so, is it just me, or isn't "The Incredible Hulk" playing in the holographic screen when Tony is taking to Nick at the end of the movie?
you know, the news footage after the fail attempt to catch Banner in the University Campus?
It'd make more sense Tony speaking to the General about the Avengers at the end of TIH if that movie takes place after Iron Man 2
i tried to sit there and wait for the credits to finish rolling to see if something would show up (which it did) but i left 15 secs after the credits rolled. but i think that even though it did a scene afterwards, i would've felt like i wanted to get up and leave prior to, ha.
i dunno. for some unexplainable reason i started feeling more and more like a douche hole the longer i sat. like "get the fcuk up man, you geek", lol.
i dunno.
as i got up i thought to myself "well, there's always youtube.."
Just saw it and liked it. If Iron Man was a 10, Iron Man 2 was an 8.5. It wasn't horrible, the effects and fight scenes were definitely better but there was a serious lack of character development. Even Tony
Spoiler:seemed like just another event. And Black Widow was just... there.
creating the new element and fixing his arc problem
I didn't mind the new Rhodey, i thought he and Tony were funny together; actually, the entire movie was funnier than the first.
i loved the
Spoiler:
nods at Cap (with his shield) and Thor at the end, the theater went nuts when they showed the hammer. Though i thought when Mexico was mention that was about Hulk

And the very same person said "Can only do so much with a man in a metal suit" with this sequel being not as good as the first one but still good
for a man in a metal suit he sure has lasted a long time 🙄

Right u are.
Thought the movie was just as good as the first. I liked the first better but I also liked Batman Begins better than The Dark Knight. I prefer origin movies personally. That being said the first Spiderman movie didn't have shit on Spiderman 2. Greatest comic movie EVER!!! 😉
Anyway I'd give Iron Man 2 a 9/10 and the first a 9.5 mainly jus because it came first.
Really liked seeing Rhodey as War Machine. I hope we see that allot more and full on threw the next one.
The movie was very fun.
I'd say it's different from the first one. Many have been saying it fails to match the original. While it certainly lacks the suprise that the original boasted, it is awesome to see the armor back on the big screen.
Pros
*The Iron Man & War Machine suits are awesome.
*Downey Jr. is, I have to admit, amazing in the role.
*Black Widow kicks ass.
*Cheadle>Howard
*Good humor; Not stupid random shit like in ROTF.
*The scenes in the armor are all spectacular except for his brawl with
Spoiler:.
War Machine at the mansion
Cons
*Not enough of armor action. Same thing that plagued the first film. There is too much of Stark and crew, not enough of the superhero.
*Don't care for the way they're portraying S.H.I.E.L.D
*Not enough of Nick Fury
*Didn't really think Rourke's character was good as a villain. Rockwell's character is nothing new.
Spoiler:
The scene with Cap's shield was lame. Didn't quite understand the "forming a new element" plot.
As far as sequels go......this is far from being one of the best of all time. Whoever said that was clearly effected by the hype. 🙄
Where does it stack up against the rest of the sequels of the genre? It's not as good as The Dark Knight, Spiderman 2, Blade II, or perhaps even Superman 2. Not sure about X2. Those first two movies thrived because the balance between Bruce Wayne/Batman and Peter Parker/Spider-Man was handled extremely well in those sequels. I did think it was, like the original, much better than The Incredible Hulk. It shits on Wolverine, G.I. Joe, and such. As far as recent blockbusters, I did like Star Trek and Avatar better.
Iron Man 2 boasts the cast required that those films had, but Rourke and Rockwell's characters were weak compared to the greatness that was Ock, Joker, and Two-Face.
I do believe Black Widow did steal the show though for me. Which in itself is quite suprising to me, as I and many others thought her character would suck and War Machine would romp. Scarlett did a great job with what she could with her character if you can get past her not having an accent. Her fight scenes, costumes, etc. were all done fine. I wish Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. in general would be handled differently.
Best film I've seen so far in 2010. Improvement is needed; film was far from perfect. Wouldn't mind seeing a third though; just need to make some adjustments. I'm not so enthusiastic about this "Avenger" film. I can't see Thor ajusting well to the big screen. And I don't like the direction they're taking with Captain America. The "Iron Man" franchise is a sure hit though. Far better handled than the Transformers films, IMO. Difficult to compare with Avatar.
Go see it. Well worth it. 8-8.5/10 for now.
