Hitler was a political genius, undeniably. He was a manipulator and an evil man, one of the most evil men ever, but his rise to power was undeniably intelligent.
Militarily he was a fool. He tried many things that other generals outright called ridiculous, expended troops on useless endeavors and the like and totally ignored advice
As much as I'm forced to begrudgingly admit it, I think Hitler WAS a genius; I've heard a load of stuff about how he planned his rise to power, engineered the holocaust; his charisma was superb. He hit the nerves of the German people in ways few can.
You see, after WWI ended, the Germans were nailed with the blame for the war and were forced to pay hefty compensations; inflation followed (a load of bread could cost more than a billion of whatever the currency was), and Germany sunk into poverty. Hitler channeled and manipulated all that in a truly brilliant way.

Yeah, he just used magic to make all of Germany follow him. Please explain how he manipulated so many people if he had the IQ of a dead squirrel
When a country is desperate, they'll do anything to change the status quo. Plus, it's called a propaganda team - which wasn't run by him, but his cronies. He published exactly what he had in store for Germany in the form of the NSDAP's Party Platform as early as 1920 - which included starting a war over the "unfair" Treaty of Versailles and his treatment of Jews.
Hardly a 'genius,' wouldn't you say?

Hitler had quite the work ahead of him at the time and nobody really believed Mein Kampf. When it was translated initially, people thought it was too 'out there' to be believable.
And nobody knew how far he'd take it.

Mien Kampf is totally different from the NSDAP's Party Platform published in 1920. MK was published in...1925. Two entirely separate things.
Furthermore, "master manipulator?" Ever heard of the Beer Hall Putsch? For real, if Hitler was a genius, I'm Darth Sidious.
Indeed. To credit Hitler's success on the desperation of Germany's people is ridiculous. Because if he was actually as retarded as you suggest, they wouldn't have comported themselves with his ideals. Fact of the matter is, he hoodwinked them into giving him whatever he wanted.
As far as his propoganda team is concerned, why would intelligent people fanatically worship a moron?

My dear Gideon, I never claimed that Hitler was retarded or a moron. Merely that he was certainly not a genius.
Just covering my ass.
