Yeah, it wasn't really a flame so much as me getting tired of him.

Just how spot on was it? I say 9.5/10 but that's biased.

I plead the fifth. And claim a mild case of apathy.

Now, now. "Absence of proof is not proof of absence."

I really don't have a problem with anyone on this forum. Except that Sidious66 guy. But only because he's black.

dixie

Now it's time for me to *****.

Why hate on RotS Sidious? He's actually my favorite Sidious incarnation, or at least close to it. I hate DE just as much as the next guy, but, really, in RotS, he's a subtle, manipulative megalomaniac; the final fight with Yoda actually captured the fact that Sidious is INSANE, something a lot of novels seem to forget. He's insane, but still calculating and ruthless. I love the way he talks, constantly controlling everything- I also like the way he taunts and psychologically destroys his enemies. I've always thought that the markings of an ideal villain is the psychological damage he inflicts upon his enemies; in Palpatine's case, it's top-notch.

I get it why some people hate him, though. And damn you bastards for already having played TFU. 😠

When Sidious is talking to Windu and opens his mouth to say the lines, "No... no... no!" ...right there. From there forward through the rest of the movie, Palpatine was lame.

Yeah, he becomes the cliche of cliches.

Of course your not interested, Gideon. Whenever anybody challenges you or outright beats you, you never seemed to reply. You take my(and others) willingness to accept that I'm wrong as conceding in every arguement since you can't accept that somebody can be an ass and intelligent at the same time.

Your on insecurity and my lack of it is why guys like you simply skirt around with a loyal band of cronies who praise in order to give undeserved credit to your opinion. You only side witht he easy-to-defend side and never pick somebody who presents a difficult challenge as losing would damage your oh-so-valued reputation.
Your self-inflated ego is only worsened by the fact that many of the ones who would keep people like you in line are gone.

Great Vengeance, Advent, and Borbarad are the only ones left from that time. You, LS, and that brown-nosing Big S only argue what is shown and have such tunnelvision that you can't concede your favorites losing.

You can only argue what's already been argued a thousand times and when someone comes along and defeats your points or hel, even just one pot, you can't take so you either ignore it as if this uppity "moron" didn't say anything or you hide behind random bullshit that you personally come up with.

In conclusion, these words should have been said LONG ago and and internet forum should NEVER be taken so damn seriously. I know I'm probably going to get banned again, but so what, it's not like this place is in the prime of it's life anymore. No offense to most of you but now I realize why NOBODY took me seriously when Gideon stood up for me.

That's just... insanely, insanely beautiful. May I put it into my profile?

By the way, I responded to your points. Can we go into great detail when I get back why you're not to be counted among my superiors? For all the forum to see?

"LOLZ VADER LOST TO ACKBAR ERGO HE'S A MORON!"

Really? I thought his 'Galactic Empire' speech is one of the best moments of Star Wars, period. He's still pretty awesome.

I've already made it clear that was neither my intention, nor my words.

Endor was the Emperor's loss, not Ackbar's victory.

In a battle, Vader would be more useful, but for a war, I would trust the fishy.

Not going any further as you seem to only use parts and segments of arguements to further your own self-inflated agenda.

Begrudgingly conceded...although Padme's line is what makes that whole scene. "So this is how liberty dies...to thunderous applause."

You really, really, really, really hate Sidious, eh?

It was a BRILLIANT scene, period. "For a safe, and secure society!". Brilliant, simply brilliant.

I would also note that, from what I've seen from Palpatine in scenes from TFU, he was cool in there, too, even if his voice actor is annoying.

No, I think the way that he looks and acts during that is too...contrived. Or...something. I can't put my finger on it. IMO, Padme seals it. The part before your quote, about "...will be reorganized into the the First, Galactic, Empire!" was great.

From what I've seen of the TFU scenes, he is pretty cool. I like the mildly glowing eyes touch. But even there, he's pretty much predictable. I mean, you saw the "Yes, yes. He was weak. Strike him down and take your place at my side" thing coming, right?

I liked it, even if it was a little less subtle than I'd have liked. Bush bashing is fun, but getting into contemporary politics narrows a movies range, confining it to a certain era. The OT stayed out of politics (as far as I know) and it is considered a classic. The PT got into anti Bush stuff, which is fun in the short term, but might limit its appeal to future audiences.

I didn't care for it that much. His best scene is probably the opera, but I think my favorite scene in the entire movie is when Anakin is trying to figure out what to do in the Council room. Everything about it was excellent - the acting (for once), the cuts between Anakin and Padme, the "voice" of Palpatine cutting in. It was probably the most well-done drama sequence in the movie.

IMO, the best acting McDiarmid's done in the saga was the line "Oh...I'm afraid the deflector shields will be quite operational when your friends arrive..."

Hell, all of him in ROTJ was very superbly done. All to the way to: "So be it. Jedi."

I thought McDiarmid was only in the PT?
Oh well, he's awesome, like Liam Neeson but more so.

No he was the ROTJ Palpatine as well.
