Gladiator vs Wonder Woman

Actually, what it sounded like, was the writer's way of inserting hyperbole that exists in every comic book, but cleverly copping out of making Vision look like an imbecile.

Less people would care if Vision said "Don't worry guys... there's the old "confidence loophole" ready for exploitation. It won't be very epic."

For that vulnerability to be exploited, Gladiator would need to have reason to doubt his power.

My point is only that it was never even considered by Vision, because he had no knowledge of it.

I'm not actually debating Wonder Woman wins.

Why would he not know about it? He read Reed's files.

this is a rapestomp

A Rape stomp? Most people would agree that wonder woman can take the majority against WWH. Yet, Gladiator, who lost to wwh is going to rapestomp WW?

Why would he not share vital info that he knew if there was a possibility of a fight (which was clearly the case)?

Gladiator did not face World War Hulk.

Wonder Woman would lose in the comics as well.

Because Hulk makes people forget that they can move faster than he can... it's a habit. Wonder Woman would have lost as well, if she had fought him on panel.

Not that Glads faced WWH anyways...

But, yeah, pretty much what Jon said.

They had no way to exploit it so it was far from vital. Like telling someone they can beat Superman with kryptonite when you know there's no kryptonite available.

No she wouldn't. In Comics, Wonder Woman has beaten CLASSIC juggernaut. While in the same story, Spiderman was seriously struggling with Mantis, so it's obvious the story wasn't Hokey.

Most people. Except, I can assure you, Greg Pak.

Wonder Woman probably would've been two-hit KO'd by Korg or Hiroim if she had been in World War Hulk.

You're out of your goddamn mind if you think Pak would've written Wonder Woman doing anything but taking a dirt nap in WWH.

Whats so interesting to me was everone screaming for Thor to be in wwh hulk if pak got a hold of him hulk would have beat his ass too.

That's a much different scenario.

Reading from a file that Superman could be affected by an unknown substance that none of us could replicate, I would brush over it.

Reading from a file that Gladiator could lose power due to a mood swing, I would bring it up...

One good turn deserves another...

DC wouldn't let that happen. Not by a one dimensional Brick with anger issues.

Yes, she would.

If she withstands two hits, I'd be shocked.

Except that's not how it has been shown to work. Battling someone like Thor has not caused his power level to drop. It's when his attacks are withstood by an opponent who should not be able to stand up to him that his psionic reinforcement falters.

But Vision (nor, as I recall, the F4 at the time) couldn't have known that.

Only that his powers fluctuated based on confidence.

And, they still could have attempted something.

In the scenario where it's hard to exploit a weakness, the situation is still better than saying "... yeah. So, we're pretty much screwed."
