He doesn’t “overcome” his weakness there, he fights on in spite of it. He himself comments that he’s weakening quickly and that’s not even concentrated blasts like Surfer‘s capable of firing. I’m not saying that Surfer will necessarily one shot him with a blast, but every little bit of Red Sunlight is going to take it’s toll and it shouldn’t take more than one or two high intensity blast to bring Supes down to a level that Surfer can easily cope with.

And that’s assuming that Surfer goes with blast rather than simply form a containment field of red sun around Supes kinda like he does here…

Cosmic Awareness is inherent to Surfer’s character, the fact that it often works as a plot device is often forgotten for the same reason’s that Supes’s speed is has no bearing in a forum match. Surfer’s Cosmic Awareness can detect vulnerabilities to frequencies of radiation in another being and K-Nite was successfully created by a Marvel character(who’s energy manipulation powers are far inferior to Surfer’s) in JLA/Avengers.
If you insist on being unreasonable than that’s on you, I won’t waste time trying to reason with an unreasonable person. I’m content with the knowledge that your side only has a valid argument if all logic and common sense is ignored along with Forum stipulations regarding a neutral universe.

Only SS would percieve him coming from over a full light year away...regardless of how fast he's moving towards him. Surfer has broken down the physical makeup of many characters in nanoseconds to find structual weaknesses before, he can scan the makeup of practically anything on a molecular level. Once he's aware of Superman's abilities its really merely a matter of either weakening him by taking advantage of K-nite, Redsun and/or simply solar draining...and outlasting him, also he can amp to withstand anything he can dish out....and has virtually unlimited resources to do so (Cosmic energies to feed from or transmutate to his will)
Superman loses vs Surfer.
The only chance Superman really has really is some sort of Blitz KO before Surfer knows he's coming. I just don't see that happening, unless Surfer was somehow weakened, or simply struck by a cosmic-level stupidifier beam beforehand.
