Revamped Dr. Doom Respect Thread

Got an update going on several areas, but let's start with the fights. Here, Doom confronts Thor with his unfinished version of the Destroyer armor which is powered by the immortal energies of slain Asgardians. Stripped from access to the energies by Balder's actions, Doom is soundly defeated...

Dr. Doom (w/ Destroyer Armor) vs Thor, from Thor #605-06:

... and teleported away by Loki, whose machinations, and likewise his powers, were beyond Doom's grasp. But Doom perseveres -- as it is revealed that Doom's studies extends now beyond those of Asgardian nature, to those descended of Frost Giants:

Soon afterwards, Doom is embroiled in the Fall of the Hulks... several times over. After the Cosmic Hulk robot is reactivated in its confrontation with the Red Hulk and A-Bomb, it ambushes Doom in Latveria. Eventually, Doom fights not just it... but Skaar, Bruce Banner and (as revealed) the Intelligencia.

Very good fights from Doom both, even if he got plotted by outside players in both of them.

DOOM'S ARMOR

Doom's fight against the Hulk(s) also revealed a few things about Doom's formidable armor: (i) it's strength levels are enough to keep the Cosmic Hulk robot at bay; (ii) it's Personal Adaptors have no problems absorbing its cosmic energies; and (iii) it's capable of producing/simulating magnetism, from Incredible Hulk #606:

SORCERY

The same fight also showcased Doom's ability to heal himself/mend his armor within seconds with his sorcery, from Incredible Hulk #606:

Doom's reputation in sorcery is recognized by Dracula, who recounts Doom's studies under Cagliostro, from Captain Britain and MI13 #11:

And his sorcery is reinforced by Doctor Strange, who admits that Doom knows dark arts even he isn't aware of, from New Avengers #51:

DOOMBOTS

Oh... and apparently his mastery of sorcery allow him to meld it with his robotics. Here, it's revealed that when Osborn turned on his Doombot in Siege: The Cabal #1, the Doombot attacked Taskmaster with a "standard plasma wakefield blast" combined with supernatural magic that completely lays Taskmaster out by attacking his spirit... A Doombot does this. From Avengers: The Initiative #31:

That fight with cosmic-robot-hulk and Skaar was f*cking amazing... can't believe Doom tanked that whole beating and beat down Skaar like a wee-child. It took that many players to take him down... Doom has still got it.

Can't wait to see how else he falls in with this "Fall of the Hulks" buisness.

^ I also am eager to see how Fall of the Hulks and Doomwar plays out as well.

Now this update is more of a retrospective on a past fight I posted. These scans come from Doom's fight with Excalibur. I never really pointed out the impressive defenses his armor demonstrates here: (i) as Kitty painfully points out, Doom's armor can cancel Kitty's phasing and clock her; (ii) his armor's control over electromagnetic fields allows him to channel them and actually control Nightcrawler's teleportation (similar to how he manipulated Doctor Voodoo's magical teleportations); and (iii) his armor having analyzed Phoenix's brain wavelengths, he can easily subdue her with an encephalo-hologram, causing even a telepath of her power/skill to relive an endless fantasy loop, from Excalibur #37:

KNOWLEDGE

It's been recently revealed that Doom had allied himself with a group of villainous super-geniuses, the Intelligencia. There one goal was to reunite the lost Library of Alexandria, a repository of ancient knowledge that spanned many disciplines, which ultimately fell into Doom's own hands, from Fall of the Hulks: Alpha #1:

And as mentioned back on pg.1, Doom has his fingers on the pulse of the Marvel Universe. Here, Doom shows the Leader intercepted transmissions between Reed and Stark concerning their plans to shoot Hulk into space. Which means that Doom hacked into either (or both) Reed's communication systems, or SHIELD's communication systems while in their secretive Illuminati discussions, from Fall of the Hulks: Alpha #1:

And hacking's always easier when you have an entire spy system network, like Doom had in Wakanda. This allowed him to see everything, precipitate a revolution, insert a figurehead ruler and give him a chance to plunder Wakanda's vibranium stores, from Black Panther vol.5 #10 and 12:

he's had some nice feats with dr. voodoo (fighting off nearly all of marvel's mystical characters)

^ We'll definitely see how that plays out when Doctor Voodoo: Avenger of the Supernatural #5 is released later this week!

DOOM'S ARMOR

Here's another update on Doom's armor. It naturally contains armaments specifically suited for combatting the Fantastic Four. Against the elastic Reed Richards, he also has made use of a Disruption Charge which shatters the cohesion of Reed's molecular structure, reducing him to jelly, from Fantastic Four #246:

And against the Johnny Storm, he's used Flame Retardant Missiles which instantly snuff his flames, from Fantastic Four #289:

Here, Doom's armor demonstrates the simulation of telekinetic abilities by snatching a globe from Kingpin's hand, from Punisher vol.2 #29:

Doom's armor also houses scanners which can instantly give Doom raw data to repurpose exotic energies. One of the most famous instances of this is when he scans the Beyonder's energies and eventually fashions an Energy Absorption Module inside his breastplate to absorb the Beyonder's power, from Secret Wars #1 and 10:

Here, his scanners instantly and accurately show that Johnny's flames are burning "17.23% hotter than usual" and that his "pyro-metabolic curves are out of control," from Fantastic Four vol.3 #54:

In the Doom/Skaar battle, did Doom use his magic to revert Skaar into a child?

^ Not sure. But every time Doom did use magic, he would speak in magical verses and he didn't really see magical verses when Skaar reverted. In my opinion, it was a combination of Doom channeling Cosmic Hulk/Rulk's powerful energies onto Skaar and exposing Skaar's psychological vulnerabilities (over his father) that made Skaar revert.

Doom didn't attempt to resort to using magic until Banner stepped in and shut off Doom's tech, but by then the poison that The Leader had put into robot Hulk had already begun to make Doom forget his magical incantations.

I've got a load of updates. But let's first focus on a feat that is shared, but no less tremendous. In the final issues of Doctor Voodoo: Avenger of the Supernatural, Doctor Doom and Doctor Voodoo fight Nightmare's Army in Latveria, the only free place on Marvel Earth.

If you look closely, Nightmare's army includes nearly every magical and sorcerous character in Marvel, including the likes of, the Ghost Riders, Illyana Rasputin, Wiccan, Talisman, Doctor Druid, Blade, Man-Thing, Dracula (still alive???), Captain Britain, Black Knight and Jennifer Kale. This fight lasts days and between the two of them, they literally kill nearly all of them, from Doctor Voodoo: Avenger of the Supernatural #4-5

Doom= bad, bad man.

Here, Doctor Voodoo gets his rematch against Doom. It doesn't end well for Doom, who left himself defenseless against possession when he handed over his Personal Actuality Shield to defeat Nightmare in the first place. But Doom's word is as good as any as he vows they'll see each other again, soon.

DOOM'S INVENTIONS

As stated earlier, Dr. Doom has a special penchant for controlling other people. One of his earliest machines was the infamous Emotion Machine. During Reed Richards' and Sue Storm's marriage, villains from across the Marvel Universe and even its future were compelled to attack them, from Fantastic Four Annual #3:

Seemingly dismissable as Silver Age nonsense, the Emotion Machine actually makes another appearance 25 years later in a tie-in to Acts of Vengeance. During several issues, the Fantastic Four are constantly attacked by more than a dozen random villains between Fantastic Four #334-36:

Doom's Energy Field Diverter proves that Doom's machines can absorb and channel exotic energies without needing to understand or analyze the energy beforehand. Here, it takes Spiderman's Unipower and amps Goliath, from Web of Spiderman #60:

In another callback to older machines, Doom invented the Liddleville Tech, which can hypnotize and entrap victims inside miniature replicas. It makes its first appearance in Fantastic Four #236:

It reappears years later in X-Force #63, and most recently in Fall of the Hulks, it's used by the Intelligencia against none other than Doom himself, as shown in Hulk #20:
