In death of the new gods Orion and Darkseid were basically tapping into the same power source. Its the same here with Seid and Olsen.
When palmer pulls the battery out of olsen,olsen shrinks.
Now when he destroys it Darkseid shrinks meaning he cant tap into this power anymore. He couldnt tap into it exclusively until olsen died.
