What gets me is if someone is 1 bit black, say 1/34 th cast, they are "black" even though the other 33 bits are white. As if the bit of blackness spoils their whiteness so they are black, like Obama. This is a bit racist or not.

No its because the One Drop Rule in the 1800's benefited white slave-owners.
But when it comes to Native Americans its the other way around. If a person has any amount of white, it detracts from their Indian-ness. This also benefited white people because then the govt. didn't have to pay for their existence.

I think that a little black humour, even pre-emptive can be a healthy thing.
(I bet jokes about Bush or Tom Cruise dying would be A-OK)
Though I can understand why people would be upset... I'm sure Obama presents so much hope to so many people that the idea of him being killed, which is a very real possibility, is too horrific and tragic to even think about. The fact that people fear it happening is also a factor I guess...
Then again, I bet you all laughed at the Muhammad cartoons or jokes about Jesus.

Hey, as long as they're laugh-worthy.Last time i checked, jokes still have to be at least somewhat funny.
I think that the JFK/King/Obama one did have comic value actually...it's not a joke I find tasteful, but as I said a little morbid humour can be a good thing.
So you're saying a joke about Obama's death is not automatically unfunny?
[edit] In fact, I don't even want to get into a discussion about this topic.
Theres no one threatening Cruise though....except maybe Cruise.
The timing for those jokes maybe after hes in there ok and we can all relax, but there is an existing possiblity of danger right now in the minds of a lot of folk following this, its deemed in poor taste.
Me and FOTN've disagreed before in the past, but I can see his point here.
