If The Clone Wars is canon, then canon would be very very confusing. ROTS never mentioned, even a fleeting insinuation that Anakin ever had a padawan.

Although, if they kill Ahsoka, it would work. if you watched ROTS alone you'd never guess that Qui-Gon ever existed...
