Cap wins this. Supes can't really relate to normal people's problems. and oh yeah, he was born on a different planet.

yeah, he didn't grow up on a farm, fall in love, lose his only source of income, or lose a parent.

He had just saved the world from a Skrull invasion...
quite the oversight on trick's part.

Point there. I still say Cap could relate to the people better.

cap isn't even close to the level of popularity superman has achieved throughout his history and everyone knows it. every american most certainly does not know who he is.......but pretty much every human knows who superman is.lol

I'm pretty sure very marvel resident knows Captain america. and in this merged earth they know both

1. He wasn't born in the U.S so he can't run for president
2. He is a rascist.

supermans kryptonite weakness is public knowledge isn't it? That would have an impact on how he's viewed by people. 😮‍💨

probably.

Cap wins, hes a peoples leader.

And Supes can't legally be President.

My bad on that. 😮 The point still stands. Even if he was appointed by the Prez, people approved of the decision, and nobody thinks to keep him on a leash.

And let's not forget, Osbourne has killed how many people over the years? 🙄 And the fact that he is known to be semi-psychotic when he's actually taking his meds.

It's a huge ****-up, and it's quite obvious he's going to blow a fuse at some point. ❌

And for the skrull invasion, who was the guy who they threw out again? The one who made all the contingency plans? The only man keeping SHIELD from becoming totally corrupt? Oh yeah, Nick Fury.

Yeah. Nick Fury is the Marvel Earth's Batman....

well, it's not perfect, but his presence in the skrull invasion made the public and the government think that things involving security are best left into his hands.

and back in the day when the whole green goblin stuff was popping, spider-man wasn't the popular hero he is now, and the daily propaganda from jameson didn't help. osborn probably got lucky in that regard.

--------------------------

back on topic, cap was the people's hero for years, he even ran a call center where people could ring him up for things and he himself would help them out. and his role in the civil war cemented his connection with the voters. i think him and superman are pretty even in that regard since he too (more famously) helped the little guy as much as the the entire population of earth fighting bigger threats.

kal's nationality is the real obstacle here, not his image in the minds of the masses. the constitution cockblocks him more than cap's shield ever could.

and ironically, changing it so he could be the prez is pretty un-american.

Its a hypothetical thread, I doubt they intended the clause of being born American when they created it.
Hypothetically, if Superman was ABLE to run for President, as the thread suggests. He'd win.

Honestly...I dissagree. You have a man who was found and raised on a farm in Kansas. His parents taught him right from wrong, and later made the decision to fight against wrong doing with his powers. His opponent is a man who had a desire to fight for his country but kept being told no because nobody believed in him. So, desperate to make his dream a reality, he takes the option that gave him all that he needed to fight for america. In my mind, Superman is more of a man who needs to not be hindered by taking care of just one country. Captain America, however, is a true blood American who knows and has lived, the history of the country he fought for. I say Cap for president.

Captain America is more of a leader. I cant see Clark in office but I could deff see Steve.

........👆 Now that's a hard arguement to say anything against. Superman isn't just a citizen of the USA. He's a citizen of earth as a whole.

Just for a laugh, there was an african-american Superman who was President in his civilian identity featured during Final Crisis. Which I believe Grant included as a nod to Obama. 😄

Psycho: One last point on Osbourne. I find it impossible to side with the man after reading about his affair with Menace, his own son's girlfriend who he impregnated. 😘 Osbourne is a sick ****.
