To be fair to Yost he did have a cast of B-Listers and any book with Rachel Grey in it is pretty much toilet paper.

'twas better then Rise and Fall of the Shiar Empire though.

No, I actually liked Rise and Fall 'cause it made Gladiator look good. 😛 Emperor Vulcan made him look...not.

And thus, this fanboy was very sad. 🙁

I agree with the Rachel stuff, though. Wish they'd kill her off or something.

That's true, the one good issue I liked in RAFOTSE was UXM #480. I also liked the scene where he punches the Phoenix's head off.

I think War of the Kings will make him look better. I asked a question to the Editors a while back before they even planned this event about the Imperial Guard and how they're made up to look like jobbers when they're powersets on paper are ridiculous.

In fact Polaris was supposed to take out the entire Imperial Guard in that mini...and Yost had to take that out most probably because they wanted to turn it into a crossover. Although I prefer to think that it was question that did the trick. 😛

That at least made them aware of it I hope. Can't fault me for trying. 😮

I think Phoenix is some how going to be involved in this...they wanted to use Jean in the last Annihilation and the X-Office said no. Looks like they may want to use Rachel.

Jean in Annihilation would've been really cool. It doesl look like they're building Rachel up. The last issue of Emperor Vulcan made her look pretty uber. And she got that (probably small) upgrade from Korvus' sword...so, who knows.

So I won't be spamming completely, I'm gonna give team two (Sue/Lorna) the solid majority win.

Christopher Yost already handed in his final script. From the interview he believes that Storm can't beat Shadow King. I'd say he probably intends Emma to take down the Shadow King on the astral plane since Storm is unable to hurt him at all. Storm will probably hold off T'Challa and Wakanda while Emma protects her from the Shadow Kings influence since we now know that he can possess her anytime and is toying with her by giving her the choice to choose between the X-Men and T'Challa.

If you look at the solicits for issue #4...

Spoiler:
Storm gets help from an unlikely source...I didn't realize this was Emma until the previews for issue 2

Also if you watched Wolverine and the X-Men which Yost is involved in:

Spoiler:
Emma saves Storm and defeats the Shadow King

Hope that helps bud. 😄

Wishful thinking✅

Team 1 wins. There's absolutely nothing that has been put forth to prove otherwise, whereas Storm has beaten Polaris twice and can work her powers through Sue's forcefield, so her "defense" is irrelevant.

Probability also lends credence to Storm having the ability to even control and deflect the exotic energy Sue uses. Trion dimension, anyone?

Spoiler:
Funny because I don't seem to remember it being done that easily. Storm told them that Shadow King could not survive without a body and Emma just barely survived while the Shadow king beat the crap out of her.

It wasn't until he was weakened enough from not having a host was Emma able to defeat him.

Her exact words were "No, He's much too powerful" when Logan asked if she could defeat him.

Storm was able to get out of the illusion and Stop the storm before shadow king was even out of her body.

If Yost does plan to have Emma fight the Shadow king it won't be under her own battle standards to have her win fair and square. He'll likely use the angle that Shadow king needed a body and he was weakened.

I also believe it was never made clear that Storm even tried to fight the Shadow king. She was too busy trying to whip up the best Storm she could to stop the illusion that her village was on fire. it was never implied that she was in any danger until the Shadow King tried to posses wolverine and kill her in which Then Emma came to her rescue.

Team 2.

Cliché to say Polaris pulls the metal out their blood? I mean, she's broken Iceman's ice slide things by manipulating the metal in water. And she's KO'd people by reversing their blood.

But Sue could also win this by herself.

Spoiler:
Well duh. Umm Storm needed Emma to help her break the illusion. And on top of that Emma saved Storm by pushing her astral form out of the way from the Shadow Kings scythe. She also managed to smack him around before he weakened so she'd be able to keep him at bay for a while.
Also Storm was helpless until Emma came to her rescue. Regardless the point I was making still stands, Storm will need Emma's help. It'll most likely be a team up between the two since the issue is Storm centric but with all the uber feats by Emma lately I wouldn't be surprised if she locks him away without aid though.

Yost said in an interview that it doesn't matter if you're one of the strongest monsters in the universe, you do NOT mess with Storm.

Why say that only to let EMMA beat, or at least play an intrical part in defeating the antagonist? It would be so anti-climactic. Who's Storm going to beat, the Wakandan Army? Cyclops? Please. They're weak!

Storm needs to solo, this her time.

Storm will also be doing waaaay cooler things than that lungsthing, according to Yost.

Team 1 wins

I don't know bud, maybe that's why they're calling it X-Men: Worlds Apart and not Storm: Worlds Apart...I always found that odd.

It's probably going to touch on the Storm/Emma relationship as well. Explain how they seem to be "getting along" in Astonishing X-Men and Uncanny X-Men.

I think she's going to fight T'Challa and Wakanda. T'Challa probably has a contingency plan for Storm. And I wouldn't call Wakanda weak.

BTW I wonder if the Panther God will appear.

I think she solos ✅

Anyway, is Storm blocking bullets here?

I don't know about soloing...why go to the all the trouble of having Cyclops flying to kill Emma Frost then?

I'm not sure, looks like she threw the guys aim off with her wind and he missed. Are those holes in the right hand side of her cape? Or are those small looking explosions hitting off the debris?

Spoiler:
If Storm was really in danger inside her own mind why would The Shadow King need to possess wolverine in order to finish her off? The whole point of the matter is if he could possess Storm why didn't he? Same with the mini he has to possess the people around her in order to affect her. All he did(or could do) in the cartoon was put an illusion in her mind and after she figured out it was that she was able to shrug it off. If Storm was helpless how would she fully be able to break the illusion and stop the Storm without the aid of anyone else? Yes Emma did reveal to Storm that it was an illusion but so did Wolverine. As far as I know there was no telepathic manipulation by emma to remove the illusion.

When Emma got b@tch slapped out of Storm's mind and then again with that axe thing why in all of this hasn't the Shadow King taken Storm out? Why would he need to go in another body to finish her off? According to Emma in the cartoon she was no match for the Shadow King and if storm's no match for him in the mini then neither is she. According to Yost that is...

It's really hard to tell but that guy looks like he's shooting point blank range. I don't see a dome around her tho so I'm guessing that nasty Storm she just whipped up knocked off his accuracy like Exodus Cloak said.

Ain't that something? it looks just like his psy displays in the cartoon! That was also a very nice Zap, we all know shadow king deserved it. 🙂 And as far the mini goes I think Storm could handle The Shadow King, but he's playing real dirty by messing with the people around her.
