The whole point of the matter is if he could possess Storm why didn't he? Same with the mini he has to possess the people around her in order to affect her. If Storm was helpless how would she fully be able to break the illusion and stop the Storm without the aid of anyone else? Yes Emma did reveal to Storm that it was an illusion but so did Wolverine. As far as I know there was no telepathic manipulation by emma to remove the illusion.

When Emma got b@tch slapped out of Storm's mind and then again with that axe thing why in all of this hasn't the Shadow King taken Storm out? Why would he need to go in another body to finish her off? According to Emma in the cartoon she was no match for the Shadow King and if storm's no match for him in the mini then neither is she. According to Yost that is...

She got sucker punched the first time and then smacked out Storms mind trying to protect Storms astral form by placing her body in the way. He needed to change bodies because they just knocked Storm out of the skies and she was exhausted thus she was useless to the Shadow King. He didn't only need to finish her off he needed to finish the other X-Men off and seeing how Wolvey is the be all and end all in the cartoon, possessing him would have been the right choice.
Emma made Storm aware of the illusion. The Shadow King was not trying to possess her, like always he wants to toy with her. What's worse then making her destroy the African Continent while thinking she's saving it?

Same with the mini, he's toying with her. If he wanted to he could have just left her on the astral plane. But he places her mind back into her body so she can choose between her friends and family.

Which is why they're going to team up. That's most likely what the solicits mean when they say Storm gets help from an unlikely source.

I also caught the part where Emma moves Storm out of the way which I acknowledged that Emma did save her there. But the point is Emma stated and it was shown that she was no match until after The Shadow King weakened from lack of host. Just watched it again. Wolverine stated that "he used her all up, her strength is gone. " Thus Storm was useless to him. And I agreed that Emma only managed to hold him at bay not defeat him. That's why they're going to team up.
That's because he was toying with her. Actually he did possess her...right after she stopped the storm and grabbed Wolverine's face. He never bothered to possess her early on because he was toying with her, he wanted her to destroy Africa. He wanted to make her pay for what Xavier did to him.

I'd have to agree that he did possess her and i can't even believe I forgot that part. But we again have to bring up the argument of was this possible because her "Strength" was gone? 🙂

I also agreed that her strength was gone but it was after the shadow king had given Emma a few slaps. I also seen the part when shadow king used the axe again, It "appears" as tho he was purposely trying to use it on Emma instead of Storm.

She is , it's the accent 😛 , hopefully she'll be back next season. I think Storm might get a little more spotlight now that Emma's gone as Jean is still and will always be boring.

I love the way they had that **** Jean blowing a kiss to Wolverine when she was together with Scott in episode 1. This was the start of the Emma and Scott pairing.

Oh and I can't wait till the next AXM issue seeing how Emma and Storm teamed up in that as well.

I hope someone finds a way to put Emma's diamond form back together, she's too good of a character to be cut off now. Storm is slowly developing and I think I'll be liking her better then Evo Storm after the series progresses. Right now she's just there but I think I really enjoyed her in the angel episode.

Did this thread drift a tad off-topic or? Can't say it was any big loss though so I might as well continue in the same vein.

About Emma helping Storm in World's Apart.

I got the impression that this mini is going to be an ode to Storm so her getting help by Emma seems a bit unlikely for that reason alone.

Another thing that speak against it is that it's hardly "unlikely" as the solicit for issue #4 says. What other telepaths do X-Men have right now (Xavier also fails the "unlikely source" of course) and why wouldn't Emma be eager to help Storm despite their less than cordial relationship now that the Shadow King apparently has the X-Men caught in his web as well? For sake of self-interest if nothing else.

Finally, why would the writer retread what he did (or at least helped with) in "Wolverine and the X-Men"? Why not come up with something new instead?

Personally, I would of course like to see Emma have another role than damsel in distress (along with the other X-Men) to be saved by Storm, but I will not get my hopes up yet. 😛
