Getting the planet out of the trench is the hard bit, once out; the power needed to move the planet decreases immensely. In other words the Star breaker is pulling the planet out of the 4D trench, Superman and Hal are using the potential energy of the "trench", as well as their own power to restore it.

Again you're misunderstanding. The Earth's mass warping space causes the trench it doesn't leave it behind when moved.

Besides newtonian physics is perfectly sufficient to describe this situation. There's no need to overly complicatye things.

Actually its a mixture of the Sun and the Earth. The sun creates the original trench, the earth gravity just embeds itself further into it.

Wait, did they actually say that moon was made of dark energy? That's impossible - dark energy is repulsive force, i.e. anti-gravity. It would not form a solid object.

Anyway I interpret this as being that relativity applies to Superman as long as he's going STL, but then he uses some kind of power like Star Trek warp drive to go FTL where relativity no longer applies.

This also supports my theory that Superboy Prime wanted to fly through Oa at lightspeed because then he would get infinite mass from relativity, but if he did it at FTL speed he wouldn't. Shoots down the retarded argument that he can't go FTL based on that plan of his.

It was the shadow energy that shadow thief uses.

Yeah, I read the issue since that last post, anyway I would say it was a pretty impressive feat based on how fast they said the moon was moving (I forget the exact number though), so it would have a lot of KE

Theres also the fact that it was made of the same energy that can take shots from people like superman ect....all in all I would say its pretty much a planet busting showing.

Except the D.C. moon has a mass 81 Billion tons.

With the speed it was travelling at, its pacts about the same punch as the impact that Killed the Dinosaurs. Plante Busting ? Well it depnds on what you regard as planet busting.

Hmmm, love comic science.

I know exactly what mass it is Its a good thing I never mentioned mass I mentioned durability and its made out of a super durable material.

Yeah but you've obvously forgotten your original assertion.

Dwane Mcduffie said he was using the gravitational force between The moon and Earth rather than the moons actual mass.

I can't be bothered working it out myself but after a few minutes on google that figure seems correct.

Bullshit ... absolute bullshit. And you know it. In the context of what was said by Zattana, Batman and the Icon characters, that cannot be the case. Batman makes clear reference to the Mass of the moon weighing 81 Billion tons. In fact, he makes it as clear as the Hubble telescope.

He busted a moon made out of shit that takes moon busters and doesn't even crack so yes you can say it was a planet busting feat the fact that he took more damage from that then he did recently from a supernova or from planet busters backs it up.

Except that planets in general have a mass FAR greater than 81 Billion tons.

Mount Frikin Everest weighs way over 81 Billion tons. So unless you regard busting a mountain as busting a planet, then you're wrong.

i don't think you can honestly say the dc moon itself, like, the actual one, is 81 billion tons.

Oh my god ...

You can when batman makes reference to it being exactly 81 Billion tons. In the comic that shows Superman ramming into the moon (Justice League 30), Batman states quite clearly that the mass of the D.C. moon is 81 Billion tons. The real moon, has a mass in order of a Billion times 81 Billion tons. It amuses me that people are this ignorant about such things.

pr1983

our moon is in the quintillions, which i'm sure both of us know.

Sorry your seem to be right

Um, guys, there's a very simple explanation for this:

Batman was wrong.

I know Batfans will cry "BLASPHEMY!" at this, but after all, he is only human. Everyone is bound to slip up once and a while. He probably just misspoke.

No, as you mentioned earlier, Duffie screwed up, but only by a factor of 10 /\ 9 🙄

Yeah, that's the important thing to remember. Batman can only be as smart as the person who writes him.

If McDuffie meant one thing but said another (which seems to be the case) then thats the way it is.
