Ultimate (Devil May Cry 3), final Royalguard Style move, blocks enemy attacks and converts the block energy into life points. In Devil May Cry 4 Ultimate was changed to Dreadnaught, which grants invulnerability for short time[2]. In Devil May Cry 3 and 4 exist such thing as invincibility frames - in some frames of some moves you are invulnerable. These are, for example, activating of Devil Trigger and Time lag.
So I guess Dante gets his Dreadnought form 😄

Never said it could. Remember when Kratos drained his "godly powers/brought Zeus down to human-size?"
Hypothetically speaking, Kratos might actually find his salvation in the Golden Fleece, or even the Blade of Olympus. Using typical comic book logic; I suppose that either of those could potentially absorb the Hulk's Gamma radiation in the same way they absorb other kinds of energy, and if he could absorb enough of it then the Hulk would turn back to Bruce Banner.
Also when Kratos jumped down the "cliff"[Aegean Sea][and amongst some "other things" he survived?]. It could have been possible that the Gods "revived" him:
Narrator/Gaia: The fate of Kratos was not as it seemed. The gods had other plans.
Athena: You will not die this day Kratos. The gods cannot allow one who has
performed such service to perish by his own hand. Ares' tactics were
brutal. His path of destruction had to be stopped.
or
The power of Pandora's Box was still inside him. So w/o the Gods[or Pandora?]Kratos would have been dead.
Hulk is stronger than Kratos[I think]. Remember when Kratos was struggling with Collosus? Hulk could have[w/o struggling]pushed Collosus far with ease. If i'm not mistaken, Hulk defeated Thor[Norse God of Thunder].

It was gameplay in the same sense that throwing the colossus off of you when it tries to step on you is gameplay. That is, it is COMPLETELY non-optional. Therefore it is a storyline element.
Well if you put it that way, it is NO DIFFERENT than struggling to lift up doors[which is non-optional].
Same powers does not = same capabilities.
For instance, you can't use Vergil's feats in an argument about Dante.
I'll wait for CC to come in here again, but yeah.. the collossus of rhodes was hollow, and therefore not as heavy as it looked.. but that is pretty much entirely moot because Kratos held apart the thumb and forefinger of ATLAS.
Kratos wins this, I think everyone except Gumachi agrees.
Originally posted by niduinHow can you argue with this logic? I mean, I never have to tap circle when I want to open doors myself. So I must be stronger then Kratos :]
i agree with that, i mean if he is as strong as he has been shown to be why do you have to tap circle to open the door why not just push it once and be done with it

A terrible example. But I'm trying to remember such a case in the game anyway (GoW2).
Regardless, such a thing has no storyline tie-in or implications nor is it a character/enemy exposition.
It only tells us one of two things
1. The developers shamelessly felt the need to have us gratuitously push the circle button in a situation that doesn't call for it and may be a bit contradictory to the character's abilities.
2. The doors are meant to be supernaturally hard to open.
In no way does it diminish the top level feats because as I said, there are no storyline implications involved.

Capcom SAID they both have the same powers. Strength means nonething[I mean Kratos vs Link...]
