It's called follow-through, and Supes will follow-through until he does what people don't normally do with Thanos: override his durability with a sustained attack.
Gets his shields up while Champion is in the middle of rushing him. All Thanos has to do is say it or think it.

That's besides the point, I don't think Thanos can go through the infinity watch, surfer and strange. PG Thor was powerful and Thanos needed tech to escape that situation.
Thing is Thor is still slower than Superman and he never followed-through after he'd landed a few blows on Thanos, he fought poorly simple as that.
No reason why a pissed off, sun amped Supes absolutely focused and trained in on smashing Thanos is going to stop unloading his much quicker attacks. He's going to have Thanos reeling and he isn't going to give Thanos time to recover like Thor did.

In this scenario Supes beats Thanos. This is how I see it I wouldn't want to be in the bigger, slower and probably weaker Ttitan's shoes in this scenario. If he doesn't put his shields up in time he's going to get beaten to within an inch of his life.

Without his shields up Thanos will get handled. A lot less speed, less strength. I can envision Superman breaking him in this scenario. There was one story arch that mentioned that Supes draws his power from entropy and that his powers ultimately operate on sheer will power. With the stakes this high I see Thanos getting a brutal beating.
