Top 10 Best Games ever made

Started by cdtm12 pages

No mention of Star Ocean: The Second Story? Kind of surprised, I thought that was much better then the games coming out at the time, including FF VIII..

Only Panzer Dragoon Saga was better. (Seriously, you have no idea how good it was.. Get it anyway you could.)

Shit, I forgot to mention MOTHER.
A must-play for every true RPG fan.

Any list that excludes Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has failed.

I thought GTA2 was better than San Andreas...

😐

well, you thought wrong. 😛

What are we basing the ten best games on? Ten most influential, best selling or our ten best gaming experiences? It's really hard for me to answer this question because most of the games i thought were once good would be a painstaking chore to go back and play today. I recently hooked my NES up and had a game night where my friends and i played nothing but NES games. I had exactly 357 NES titles and we must have played at least 200 games that night and pretty much all of them were garbage. However, back in the day they were the bee's knees. I really can't get over how bad they were. They were so bad that i took my entire collection to, The EXchange the next day. I'm going to do the same with my other old games and consoles. Other than a few gems most games have aged horribly with all the new innovations.

I don't know, I can still enjoy the SNES. The N64 and PlayStation as well, I agree somewhat with the NES, and of course most games (kinda like today) were kinda bad anyways. I quite enjoy 90s computer games, too.

Most of the games I think are shit now, I pretty much thought were shit then..

But Batman, Double Dragon, Blaster Master, Punch Out, and Ninja Gaiden are fun in any era.

I probably wouldn't want to revisit Final Fantasy though. We had fun, but I'm too spoiled by modern rpg's...

I'll just list my favorites in the order I can think of them in. My favorites are the ones I've had the most fun with.

1. Pokemon (can't pick a gen)
2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
3. Super Mario World
4. Tomba!2: The Evil Swine Return
5. inFamous
6. Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal
7. Spyro the Dragon
8. Super Smash Bros.: Brawl
9. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2
10. Kingdom Hearts

Honorable Mentions: Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Megaman X series, Megaman Battle Network series, Sly Cooper series, Crash Bandicoot series, pretty much any other Mario and Zelda game, Donkey Kong Country series, Metroid, Kirby: Superstar, Dynasty Warriors, and Twisted Metals 3 and 4.

Yeah, had a lot of fun with a lot of games.

I based my top 10 list on single player experience only(because I love so many games I have to make even more separate categories) and based it on what games actually affected my life or made me think differently about things. As much as I love the pokemon games the narrative and gameplay have not in any way affected my life or altered my outlook on it even slightly.

Great works of art will have that effect.

Alright, time to go back to my KMC hibernation.

None of you liked the Hitman games?

And did any of you play the Shadowrun games on the SNES and Genesis/Megadrive?

Going by enjoyment rather than supposed quality, my ten are:

Classics:

MGS
FF7
FF8
ISS Pro 98
Sensible Soccer
Syndicate
Resident Evil 3
Super Mario World
Street Fighter 2
Mortal Kombat 2

Modern Games:

Dragon Age Origins
Mass Effect
Star Trek - Bridge Commander
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Splinter Cell: Conviction
COD: Modern Warfare
GTA: Vice City
007: Everything or Nothing
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 (yes, the demo was that good)
Dawn of War 1 + expansions, 2 + expansion

Oh yeah.

I should mention strategy games like Age of Empires, Warcraft, Starcraft, and C&C are also the shiz-nites back in the days.
