OK I am convinced you have never seen LW1. Riggs chased down Joshua to the freeway. Murtaugh met the Colonel/Major outside and toasted him.McClaine ran, rested, ran, rested some more, etc; He didnt run the damn Boston Marathon.
Yeah, special forces soldiers are trained to fight only in the jungle, what WAS I thinking? 🙄
In the desert he was sniping and his attention was elsewhere. McClaine was snuck upon in DH1 while radioing from the rooftop, remember?
So now McClaine is gonna take of his shoes? 😆
.....And make additional fists with his toes that he'll use to give Riggs even more of a beating.
Heh you were right to pull me up on that one. You were right there.
Memory was a bit confused being quite tired by that point last night.
But the dist/time thing remains it wasnt a Chicago to LA at the speed of sound kinda deal you know..?
Yeah but McClane doesnt have all Riggs training though does he...?
(Despite this you'll notice the different outcomes in a minute)
So Riggs looks sillier. Besides. McClane's shouting down the radio gave his position away, Riggs was all that way away and still couldnt detect McCallister coming.
And think about it.
Riggs wasn't shooting for long.
McCallister must've ripped it speed wise in virtually a straight line in a car and the circled behind to then sneak up on Riggs in the time that he did. (Which would kicked up lots of dust and sand to give his postion away to Riggs.)
And Riggs couldnt see that on a clear day...? With neither the scope-using eye or the other one between shots..?
With observation skills like that he is absolutely screwed in a dark building against the Nakatomi cleaning lady with a Magnum and her trolley of mops and spare toilet rolls....let alone McClane.
At least McClane ambushed in a place with lots of objects, walls partitions etc to be sneaked behind... where getting caught by Karl there was at least reasonable.
Interestingly, it would seem that when having guns pointed at their heads:
The Riggs response is to surrender and allow himself to be electrocuted for a bit.
The McClane response was simply to knock the muzzle aside and beat the shit out of Karl....escaping the prospect of capture...!
What? Special forces can do literally anything and are gods...?
How come they couldn't beat McClane in DH2 despite McClane being held back by having to use blanks for a whole bit of the film...?
Hope Riggs wasnt trained by the people who trained Col.Stewart's buddies......
And likewise, do you think that because you are trained in something that mistakes don't get made...?
And its not as easy to train to deal with unpredictable opponents.
I know that despite Riggs "training" his isnt as effective in real Carnage situations as McClane.
