Oh jeez.I'm confused.
The terrorists who attacked us were not Iraqis.
We freakin' invaded their country with data that was known to be faulty. We have killed tens of thousands of Iraqis. I would highly expect to be attacked by rebel miltants in Iraq.
However, Afghanistan is a different story. There are innocents there, for sure. There are also guilty.
Our problems with Iraq should go away as soon as our presence is gone. However, I don't suspect our problems with the Taliban will go away any time soon. (Isn't there a Talban presence in Iraq? If so, that could spell more trouble even after we leave.)
I have to say that I agree with you there I believe that our problems with the Iraqi people will end once and if our troops ever leave their country, they don't want us there, we shouldn't be there.

That's not at all what I am saying. I don't think the US deserved it. More specifically the people that did get "slapped" did not deserve it. But the US turned around and did the same...just twentyfold.Personally I think the US is a great country. A lot of it is very amazing, and it's foundations are beautiful, but damn....it got some issues.
America having "issues" is putting it nicely, honestly this country is a bit screwed up, I really believe that this country needs to mind its own business a little bit more, maybe try taking better care of its own people

Oh, the libertarians have a very strong anarchist wing. It's sad, but within the libertarians there's just as many differences as there is with other parties 😛
I was wondering about that.
Seriously, I thought it was just me. I noticed a lot of diversity. I've only taken a liking to the libertarians in the last year or so.

Nah, we all have a bit different ideas I guess of just how little a government should do, and why. I mean, just take the objectivist nutters, they want nothing to do with libertarians at all...ironic that Ayn Rand's books were hugely influential in creating the modern libertarianism. But on the whole, most libertarians have pretty good points, and we should really work together to "spread the gospel" so to speak. One thing I could suggest you is "Reason" magazine, it's a fun read, and they give you some very good journalism as well, and a reasonable price, too.

The terrorist attacks, that is why I wouldn't sacrifice myself for them, ya I know not all of them are terrorists, but you're talking to someone who is joining the U.S. Army. As far as a list of how countries are valued by me no I don't have a list, other than the whole Iraqi thing it really wouldn't matter to me where they come from
My Dad's been in the army since he got out of high school, and same for my mom. My Dad has been overseas TWICE.
And those people are good people over there. Not all of them are terrorists. There are f*cking civilians over there, that don't support terrorism at all. Shit, not all of us Americans supported Bush, so people can't blame the general American public for the shit HE'S done. It's the same principle.
But that's just my opinion.

two tours over seas, wow! that's crazy, I'm freaking out about the possibility of being deployed, but I guess that's just the risk involved with joining the Army.
True, not all of them are terrorists, some I am sure are normal people just like us

Well, it was also voluntary, him going over there and all.
And there currently is NOT a draft, so technically they can't make you go.
And I also talked to both of my parents, and asked them if they ever thought the draft could later involve women, and they both said that would probably never happen, so I'm sure you'll be fine

I know they are still sending soldiers over there I have a family member being deployed in March, a lot of whether I go or not will depend on my unit, if they send my unit then I will have to go, I honestly hope I dont go but thats part of being in the Army, you do as you are told

like I said, they dont want us there so we shouldnt be there, it is their country not ours, so it should be their decision whether or not to have us there

Hmm.....Am I the only one who thinks that the USA is ballsy as hell for assuming it can go over and end it?
I agree
