It has been long rumoured, and it is in the movie adaptation comic.
(Of which that 2nd pic is the cover)

So im 90% certain.

Kinda looks less combined, and looks more like a "Ripley in the Aliens powerloader" kinda deal.

Physically, it looks pretty cool to me.

The legends and even the leader class toys combine.

Yeah it is a cool design I guess....

Would have been cooler though to see it look a bit more integrated and a little less like Prime wearing bits of plane kibble.

Definitely adds to Prime's mass.

I just wish they didnt butcher Jetfire in order to do it.

I like the way it looks. I'm hoping they keep the Jetfire parts for any sequels and make it his trailer.

I was ready to thumbs down that design because it's one of the things I really didn't like from the new series, the little red plastic safety lid was open and my finger was on the button, but that Ripley in the powerloader comment saved it for me.

It also reminds me of "The centurions" from the 80s, also. Particularly Ace McClouds more involved suit.

Put that quote in the movie and make the leader class Optimus be able to say it. that would be cool.

The reviews of the comic adaptation are out there.

Lots of unexplained bits/loose ends/plotholes and a feeling that much was copped out on, so far.
(Nice to see at least a flow in continuity from the flow of the 1st one then lolz)

Things like Ravage sneezing extra decepticons and the 30 or so TFs from the script outline not really featuring sounds dodgy to me.

Jetfire kills himself so he can combine with Optimus

On the cover at the top of this page who is lying at optimus' feet?
Is it starscream, megatron, fallen?

Sort of looks like Blackout to me. But who knows with these shitty designs...
Even though we can clearly see the face etc, we still have no clue due to the fact that they all look the same "I'm obviously meant to be a scary monster....woooooooooooooooooo....." kinda look to them.

They're too indistinct to work.

That Jetfire death is a bit different in the novel to the comic adaptation.

Apparently, Scorponok turns up out of nowhere and spears Jetfire with his tail. Ratchet then talks out modding them both then in the next panel Prime-Fire is flying through the air....
