Haha. The bots had to be modernized for the general public to accept. I'd still watch the movie if they were all big and blocky.
Also, the kids are watchin Transformers Animated and that cartoon is heavily G1 inspired.

Yeah, and I've started thinking, if I had the chance to copyright my own version of TF's I totally would. I wouldn't make them look the way Bay made them look, but I'd jump on that deal in a heartbeat.
The Alternators and MP's would look great onscreen, but I have a feeling people would be put off by all the shoulder/hip/arm kibble those bots had hanging off of them.
