I've been trying out the PS3 version of this game, and well, it sucks. the multiplayer that is. on PC it's a 1000 times better. This game is really low on PC specs aswell so I can't see a reason why anyone would go with the console version, other then playing solely singleplayer.
Thats a thing aswell, single player games be it first person shooter or whatever, I tend to enjoy alot more on my big tv then on my pc aslong as gamepad option is availble, (that can always be fixed if not originaly intented by the game developers)
I acturlly have been planning to make me a little nice "portable table". I got this nice sack chair which I have infront of my tv when I watch blue ray movies and stuff, but also for playing PS3 and single player games on my pc when using the HDMI.
But for AvP keyboard and mouse is a 1000 times better, so for the ultimate way to experiance AvP I am going to make me a small table that fits just over my legs when I sit in that sack chair, only big enough for the keyboard and mouse space, turn of my lights, and enjoy the game in surround 🙂 Can't wait for the game!
After the steam patch the game wasn't so bad imo, controls are still a little stiff and they are using an 8 month old code for the demo.
The final product will be better but ill still wait for reviews before purchasing this game for pc.
I will however, not be gaming on DX11 as im stuck on xp despite having a dx11 ready card.
Its honestly all I wanted.. all the goodness of avp, with some new stuff thrown in, and next-gen graphics
though it seems like the sound effects are sometimes not 100% faithful to the films?.. maybe they're using em from the newer movies or even avp movies.. but the motion detector sound is an example of what I mean

That really urked me about the demo. I don't know if the sound will be different in the actual game but not only did i find a problem with some of the sound effects i also noticed that the sound effects, in general, sound flat and sometimes low. I have a bose surround system, so i know it's not my t.v. Has anyone else noticed that? The sound just sounds a bit to mono sometimes.
I did notice the motion detector. The Pulse rifle also sounds a bit different. The Aliens still sound like baby elephants and peacocks when they explode though 😉 and the predator sound effects are perfectly genuine from the movies. So, that's good.
This is a great goddamn game. I retract eveything i said about it before. This is nothing but tons of fun. Two very weak complaints, Marines need flares in multiplayer. Both alien races get to see in the dark and through heat vision but marines get stiffed on no flares? 1 lousy goddamn flare per life. lol i'm just muckin about. This game is a masterpiece. A lot of hard word work and love went into it.
I really don't know what all the bad reviews are about...,they're bullshit. If you want something different in a multiplayer game then this certainly offers it up on a silver platter. I really am not a fan of deathmatches and such, but here...,it's ridiculously fun. You can pretty much do anything

Marine had the longest
Aliens was in the middle

I'm looking up reviews and everyone is saying that this game is decent but I'm mostly reading negative feedback from them. They say that as the Predator, using the wrist blades won't feel as awesome as you think it will be and that the reason why there are so many dark areas in the marine campaign is because Rebellion tried to hide the bad graphic details on the surfaces of walls and such, the AI isn't so good, first person shooting as a marine feels standard, and the controls on the Alien and Predator feels rough.

Firstly, the graphics are NICE. Really, they are gritty and sleak. The reason the Marine campaign is so dark is because it builds atmosphere and a haunting experience. What would have any of the alien movies been without darkness? The marine controls do feel rough and standard, but it works, because the game works with you and only wants to give you a thrilling ride. This is truly a fan game. There are some weaknesses in the shooting ,like not being able to to shoulder zoom and not being able to crouch but REALLY, these lack of overlooks are rarely questioned in the Single player campaign. The game moves like a rollercoaster arcade and for a first attempt to consoles...,This team knocked it out of the park.
If you're a fan of aliens, or predator then you will be overjoyed with this game. you will be able to overlook the minor inadequacies and enjoy what we've been given...,Rise and shine ladies it's another beautiful day in the corps...,"how do i get out if this chicken shit outfit? Okay, you kinda have me convinced but what about the AI and the Predator's wrist blades? Are they any good or do they look like they still need some improvement?

-I spent a good couple of hours.. I think around 5 ish? on the marine campaign.. less than that on alien and pred.. but you should know that there are collectables (in a cog tag kinda fashion) to be snagged for each species, which I still havent gotten 100% of for each yet
-Well.. they had to break it down to rock paper scissors for everyone..
and I dont really know how you expect to be using the wrist blades lol..its light, heavy, dash-attack, block for both alien and pred.. marines get only light attack and block
-I didnt notice any bad graphics to be honest.. the areas are dark so you have difficulty seeing what you're trying to kill.. like in doom 3 to give a kind of claustrophobia with darkness I suppose
-As for AI.. I'm not sure.. I do know that as you put the difficulty up, they spawn more and hit harder.. which is crazy enough as is in regards to aliens
-Its about what you'd expect, when walking down dark corridors with a motion sensor
-Rough?.. as in what?.. unfinished? they controlled fine to me.. my only bit of advice is that in the pred campaign.. watch your step when you're using visors lol.. had a few occasions where solid ground looked like the edge of a cliff.. specially in alien visor mode
I've been playing the full version of the game now, those reviews are bs. The graphics are splendid, the tectures are absolutly fantastic. Those gaming reviews site, well some of them are rumored to just give good scores to games were the game publisher has paid them to give them a good score.
Try it out for yourself, either rent or whatever, and judge for yourselfs.
