Yeah I'd totally recommend to try it yourself.. the reviews for this game are pretty retarded

The only good review that i've seen so far for this game was in the official Xbox Magazine 8/10.

Okay, you kinda have me convinced but what about the AI and the Predator's wrist blades? Are they any good or do they look like they still need some improvement?

I can't really comment on the AI because i've only played on the normal difficulty setting, so far. I have noticed there are times where the Aliens aren't as ruthless as they should be but again, i am playing on an easier difficulty. I don't know why anyone would be complaining about the predators wristblade. There is nothing wrong with it. Once you have it equipped you simply target something and then watch your target die, after pressing RT. The only reason why i could see people complaining about it is because there is no way to block against it in Multiplayer.

Played it for the first time last night. I like playing as the Predator the most. It's sooo much fun just stalking marines and slicing the shit out of them. The sounds the Pred makes and going into heat vision really immerse me in it. Then again, I'm a big fan of the Predator franchise.

I just rented the game yesterday and all I can say is that the game is decent. Not great or outstanding, just decent. The Alien campaign is short, the Marine campaign is somewhat good and playing as the Predator feels kinda cool but it gets kinda annoying that even though invisible, Marines can spot me with ease and I was being as quiet as I can get.

you realise they have motion sensors, yes?... your being quiet has absolutely NO bearing on your success..

Does the motion sensor detect motionless Aliens as well?

Not sure if it does in multiplayer but it probably wouldn't matter. The motion sensor is pretty useless. It just adds to the atmosphere. The only time i've ever found it to be useful is when playing the infestation mode in multiplayer. Otherwise it probably gets you killed more than it helps, in multiplayer. Playing the marine in Team death match just sucks period. Not only can they not see in the dark but they don't have any one hit kill moves like the predator or Alien.

if its not in motion, it wont be detected.. but the marine can use common sense if they see a blip just vanish, that probably means the hostile is still there, or it died.. so you have to use your best judgement

the motion sensor is 2nd best tracking in the game IMO... you cant sit there staring at it while fighting.. but you can glance quickly at it to get bearings on your enemies location.. I personally love playing marine in species team DM... if you get a bunch of marines sticking together as a team you can do some real damage... their bullets hurt.. a lot...

also.. fatalities are overrated.. their animation is very long, and you have a very high chance of dying for that 1 little kill .. however.. if you play it smart and target someone alone you might get it off without dying.. if marines had fatalities they'd probably be better than predators, IMO

Read another review on this talking about the gore "At Times, too bloody, gory and graphic"

Jeez you can clearly see the rating on the game and knew what you were gonna get

Seems like so far 2010 is the year of game reviewers don't know shit 😛

Really? That's fukin ridiculous. There really isn't to much gore in the game. So...,the AvP movie gets criticized because it's not violent enough and the game gets hammered because it's to violent? 😂

I played the demo online and it was soooo much fun, can't wait to get my xbox back and then play me some AvP

Btw anyone up for some teamplaying on the PC? I hate going into games and ending up with clowns when fighting people that are teamed up, you just can't win in those matches :/

I got called an emo on the PC version cuz of my email address 😬

Add up my steam username is spidervlad and in game name bloodyhawks.

This game is seriously driving me nuts.

Played marine - went pretty well. It's a bit corridor driven but still a lot of fun.

Then played predator - pretty weak in my opinion. Predator is not powerful at all. The AI is complete shit. What's worse is that its the same 5 levels as the marine, which was very disappointing.

Then played as alien - went well again. Alot of fun moving around as an alien but again, its the same 5 levels over and over. It's pretty ****ing ridiculous.

Got the last part and faced off against the same 3 enemies. Boring. The last guy was tough for me for some reason, maybe because I just wanted it to end so I was reckless. What boiled down to it is attack, run away to regain health and attack again.

I decided to go to easy to just finish off the game. I was bored and getting frustrated. It wasn't fun. What happens next? Instead of facing off against the last boss at the checkpoint, the ****ing game goes back to start of the level again. How ****ing annoying is that? Might as well be 1998 with that ****ing decision.

In the end, the game is alright but easily been better. It's forgettable, and would of been complete ass if it wasnt for the subject matter. Replace the aliens (the only utilized franchise in this game) with some other alien type thing and its complete shit.

The graphics are great in my opinion. The sound design is also good except for the god awful voice overs. It's brutal.

The gameplay is subpar. The marine levels are cool but its the same thign over and over again. You go forward, alien pops out, kill it, repeat. Get to a hold the fort situation, kill the required amount of aliens, and get on your way.

But the worst thing about the game is the levels. I haven't seen level design this bad for quite some time. Every single campaign is identical but at a different time. But there barely even reskinned. I do like how three campaings intersect a bit but having the same 5 levels is a bit too much. Considering Alien VS Predator 2 did the exact same, 10 times better, its weak. The story coinciding with levels doesn't even make sense. For a station under considerable attack, those same labs/refinery and other place are constantly being restaffed.

In the end, its mediocre SP experience. 6.5/10 if I needed to give it a score. I so wish Rebellion doesn't make a sequel and SEGA gives it back to Monolith or much more talented designer because this game could of been much better.

Seriously, the same ****ing levels 3 times over....ahhhhh

I didnt really buy the game for the single player.. so I personally love the game a lot more

I can understand your frustration with the single player, but at the same time

- good A.I.? with aliens that can traverse all surfaces?.. that sounds like a controller through the television to me lol

-playing the same levels is I suppose what happens when 'intertwining' is involved?
[in this case, I especially like how chunks of the single player maps are used for multiplayer]

-I disagree about the predator being weak.. I could spam RB and massacre an entire squad.. and it gets much easier when weaponry is involved, and then on top of this, you add the (seemingly added last-minute) distraction tool and its noob city from start to end

I do enjoy your honesty (and mostly share in your disgust) about the single player.. but it really doesnt seem like their main focus at all

have you tried any of the multiplayer?

Sounds like the 'intertwining' was done better in AVP 2 by Monolith.

The plot is nothing but weak sauce but at least it leaves a cliff hanger for a possible sequel since

Spoiler:
both Weyland and the Predators found the location of the Xenomorph home world and Six became the new Alien Queen.

Honestly, I wish that Rebellion remade Alien vs. Predator 2 for the consoles instead of making this one.

AI as in the humans. Run right at you, or get behind cover then run right at you. Or when you can "distract" humans to a scary dark alleyway, and they go, "hmmm I wonder what's there?".

The SP campaign for Predator was weak. I didn't feel like a badass at all. I felt like a dude with wrist blades. The hand to hand combat is dumb. After re-playing the Chronicles of Riddick, where two prisoners go at it (which makes sense), you have an Alien and Predator duking it out. When has that ever happened in the movies?

If SP wasn't there focus, what's the point of having it? It's a 10 hour SP campaign, which in my books means that the developers went out of their way to divert a lot of resources to it. It was also marketed as SP game also.

And as before "interwoven" stories doesn't mean the same levels. Look at AvP2, where there was a couple of rooms that the 3 campaigns shared but the rest had different levels and still felt like the world was there.
