That is the most asinine statement I've heard you make in awhile. If you fight someone like Superman several times, and either hold your own, or win, THEN YOU HAVE SUPERSPEED, unless proven otherwise. What about Orion, or Kalibak, or any of the other speed feats?

DS's superspeed isn't by proxy at all. He fought Orion and used superspeed, he has superspeed mvoement and FTL movement with flight too.

DS also surprised Flash once with his speed in a JLA issue (forgot the story arch). But Flash was eavesdropping on DS who was across the room and when he turned around DS was unexpectedly in front of him and proceeded to KO Flash.

Those couple of guys who got out of their way were New Gods, there was only a small group of Earthlings in the crowd, a news crew of about 4 humans that had been allowed to be present.
