Judging the Holy Shonen Trilogy on their respective merits. You guys should do your own lists of who wins!
Personally I'd say that One Piece wins them all. Luffy is the best hero, the World Government is the best villain and the Strawhats are the best nakama imo.
Hero: Luffy, Naruto, Ichigo.
Villain: The World Government, Aizen, Akatsuki.
Nakama: Strawhats, the other two suck equally. Bleach probably wins for Tatsuki and Rukia.
Well...yeah. Of course One Piece is going to have a better Nakama. The plot of part 1 was centered around making one. Naruto's Nakama...is confusing. Is it Team 7 or Konoha 11? The latter doesn't do much, the former has a shit ton of problems. As for Bleach, the Nakama is treated like absolutely dog shit. It used to be good but now Chad, Ishida, and Orihime are barely relevant. Soul Society was arguably the best and worst thing to happen to Bleach.
Definately imo. The Soul Society arc was good when they were morally ambiguous assholes actively fighting the protagonists, but when they all became buddies and we were supposed to root for them it just sucked. They took attention from the actual main characters and it led to some wierd fridge logic. Uryu not attacking Mayori as soon as he got the chance was as ****ing retarded as it gets.
But still, what about the other two?
I wouldn't mind them being allies if they would just go away and only appear occasionally. But they don't. They completely eclipsed the others.
I dunno. Haven't finished all of One Piece. I just know it would win in the Nakama department. Going based on what I have read, the villains don't really interest me as much as Naruto's and I prefer Ichigo to Luffy because the latter, while endearing, gets tiring. Admiring him only goes so far. But that's just based on my reading so far. Perhaps the villains will step of their game and Luffy will go through amazing character development or something. I dunno.
In general, One Piece is better in all three categories IMO.
I'm not really a huge fan of Luffy, but I verge on hostile to Naruto and Ichigo.
In terms of villains, sure there are some Bleach and Naruto gems like Barragan or Zabuza, but ultimately OP takes it with srsly awesome guys like Enel, Blackbeard, Arlong, Crocodile, etc.
Nakama is really no contest for me.

I'm in Alabasta. Usopp and Chopper just beat Mr. 4 and the Mole Lady whose name was better in the dub(Mrs. Groundhog day). I know what happens in the arc but I'm reading through it again to make sure I can notice anything important. Starting at Enel it will all be new though, sans a few things I already know about like the deaths of Whitebeard and Ace.

Yeah, that blog I linked made me realise that Ichigo really has no real goal other than to look out for his friends. Its why all of the arcs have been about someone getting kidnapped or put in danger; he has no real driving motivations like Luffy or Naruto do. 😬
It makes me wonder who'll get kidnapped in the next arc. I can't really see a way to get him into the plot otherwise.

I don't really mind that. It makes perfect sense given Ichigo's backstory. Why does he need a goal other than protecting his friends? Naruto and Luffy are glory seekers. Ichigo could care less about that. Probably one of the reasons I prefer him.

Of course it does. He wants to be the shit out of anyone that threatens his loved ones. That's something I can admire at least. Naruto, who I actually do like, will get tiring with his idealism. And Luffy's constant stupidity annoys me.
But the one I have no opinion on is the villains. Between Bleach and Naruto, it would be Naruto easily. Akatsuki is quite superior to the villains of Bleach. The villains of One Piece so far are just rather boring. They can be entertaining in how evil they are but that's not saying much. So, I dunno. We'll see how it goes.

The more I think on it...Nakama shouldn't even be a category.
The Konoha 11 aren't really officially a group, it's just something the fans made up that took a role in anime filler. The appearance of the group in the manga was just them deciding that they were going to kill Sasuke and then live it to Naruto later on. That's all the group ever did as a group. I can't even justly call that a Nakama. Team 7 is closer but even then that's a broken Nakama that's trying to put itself together. Really, the closest thing Naruto ever had to a Nakama was the Sasuke Retrieval Squad. They had a set goal, were friends, and were willing to go the distance for one another. The only reason this isn't one is because the group doesn't officially exist after the arc. Naruto has no set Nakama so there is no way for it to compete.
Bleach on the other hand has one. It's just woefully irrelevant. I disagree with him about Ichigo not really having a reason to be friends with them. He does, with all of them. The problem with this group is very noticeable: When the Shinigami, like Hitsugaya, get more attention than the Nakama, they may as well not even be there. They aren't important in the grand scheme of things. The only thing the Nakama does is exist so Ichigo has a reason to fight the bad guy. The Nakama are so out of focus that it's painful and makes me miss the good old days of the Soul Society arc.
How can one actually put these two up against One Piece in this category? It is completely one sided. Each member of the group got a small arc dedicated to them. They have a conflict, Luffy shows up and kicks that conflict straight in the ass, and they become his Nakama. The purpose of the story, at least the very early parts, was the Nakama. In Naruto, no Nakama exists. In Bleach, it's so out of focus that it is irrelevant. In One Piece, it's the driving force for a lot of the plot. No shit One Piece would win that. If the category had been supporting cast or something, the others might have had a chance at the very least. I don't have a problem with One Piece being seen as better than the others(In many ways, it very well is) but don't insult the reader by making a category where the competitors are that unbalanced. It's not fair.
In that case, the Konoha 11 and Ichigo's friends are still barely relevant. I can't even actually call the Konoha 11 friends with one another. Naruto certainly is friends with the majority(barely has had anything to do with Shino or Tenten in particular but whatever) but they aren't themselves very close. And yeah, Shinigami stole all the attention away from Ichigo's friends. If it was just his friends, well Naruto has lots of friends that he is closer to than the Konoha 11. Bee, Sai, Kakashi, etc. Likewise, Ichigo has quite a few of the Shinigami that he is close to like Ikkaku, Urahara, etc. Luffy also has friends outside of his crew of course, like the two giants, the dog, etc.
So he is grouping them. And by doing that, you really aren't giving the other sides a fair shake based on the stories. One Piece is about a boy forming his crew and going on adventures, hoping to become King of the Pirates. Bleach is about a boy given supernatural powers and trying to protect the people he cares about. Naruto is about a boy who faces the ninja world and wants to become Hokage. The bare plot of Naruto could work without a Nakama, Bleach has one but they serve more as devices than anything, whereas One Piece is initially centered around finding a Nakama. I can't actually call this a fair category like heroes or villains. Action, story, design, etc. One of these would be a less one sided category.
But that's just me. I personally think it's unfair to all three involved because it's not really giving One Piece a chance to show it's stuff. It's just very much stating the obvious. A story about a pirate boy trying to create a crew ends up making an interesting crew. One would generally expect that to be the case.
I know. But it's not really the supporting cast. It's specified as Nakama. There are plenty of characters in each series that are important supporting cast members but are not really friends with our protagonist.
Really? Huh. Should be interesting to read if he ever updates. Though he does seem a tad biased against Naruto Shippuden. I guess he just doesn't get it or doesn't care for how Kishi handled it. Ah well.
